Some beautiful fish are available right now at Legacy Line Aquatics.

Our current selection includes Congo Tetras, Rummynose Tetras, Denison Barbs/Roseline Sharks, and plenty more.

These are exactly the kinds of species we wanted to add through our Select Imports program. They are colorful, active community fish that give customers more options when putting together a complete aquarium.

The Congo Tetras are already showing some incredible coloration, the Rummynose are looking fantastic, and the Denison Barbs are absolutely stunning in a group.

Whether you’re looking for a centerpiece school, something active for a larger community tank, or just want to add some color and movement, we have quite a few options available right now.

What an awesome day at the Aquarium Society of Southern Indiana Fall Tropical Fish Swap!

We want to give a huge thank you to ASOFSI and everyone involved in putting this event together. A lot of work goes into organizing something like this, and we truly appreciate having the opportunity to be a part of it.

An even bigger thank you to everyone who stopped by the Legacy Line Aquatics table! Whether you purchased fish or plants, grabbed a business card, asked questions, talked fish with us, or simply came over to say hello. Getting to meet so many people who share the same passion for this hobby is one of the best parts of events like this.

Having my boys there helping out and enjoying the day with me made it even more special. They may have taken their jobs as official business card distributors a little too seriously haha!

Legacy Line Aquatics continues to grow because people choose to support small businesses like ours.

Once again, thank you to the Aquarium Society of Southern Indiana for continuing to bring hobbyists, breeders, vendors, and families together.

We had a great time and look forward to the next one!

A few of the newest breeding projects here at Legacy Line Aquatics!

Most of these fish are still growing out and are not quite ready to reproduce yet, but this stage is honestly one of the parts we enjoy most. This is where we get to watch them develop, evaluate coloration, temperament, health, and start thinking about what each fish may contribute to future generations.

These fish came from two breeders we have an incredible amount of respect for. These lines come from two nationally recognized breeders. These breeders have already put years of work into developing and maintaining these lines. We are genuinely grateful they trusted us with fish from their programs and gave us the opportunity to build from what they’ve already created.

For us, adding a breeding project isn’t just about getting a basic male and female to spawn. The goal is to learn the line, document where our breeding stock came from, make intentional pairings, evaluate the offspring, and continue making selections generation after generation.

Some of these projects are going to take a while before we have fish available.

We would rather be patient, start with quality breeding stock, and produce fish that we can confidently put the Legacy Line Aquatics name behind.

Really looking forward to seeing what these fish become and where these lines are several generations from now.

Our Select Imports program is officially underway.

We just received this beautiful group of Singapore Discus, approximately 3–4” in size.

The coloration on these fish is already incredible, and we’re very happy with their body shape, balance, and condition upon arrival.

Before any imported fish becomes available through Legacy Line Aquatics, they first enter a dedicated 4-week quarantine and observation period. This gives them time to fully settle in, begin eating consistently, adjust to our water, and allows us to closely monitor their health before they ever reach a customer.

These Discus have officially entered that quarantine period and will not be available for purchase until they’ve completed it successfully.

This is exactly what we had in mind when we started developing our Select Imports program. We are adding species we cannot realistically produce in our local water while still being selective about the quality of fish we’re willing to put our name behind.

Which one catches your eye the most?

We’ve officially expanded our selection to include live aquarium plants alongside the fish and invertebrates we already offer.

Current plant selection includes:
Java Fern
Windelov Java Fern
Anubias Nana
Anubias Barteri
Java Moss
Hornwort
Guppy Grass
Amazon Broadleaf Sword
Jungle Vallisneria
Corkscrew Vallisneria

We focused heavily on hardy, proven aquarium plants that work well in everything from beginner community tanks to planted breeding setups. Many of these are excellent low tech options and do NOT require CO₂ injection.

These photos are some of the actual plants we currently have settling into our systems.

Which plant is your favorite, or what species would you like to see us carry next?

Another milestone for Legacy Line Aquatics!

We had the opportunity to deliver another group of fish bred and raised right here in our own systems. This time to The Aquatic Critter in Nashville, Tennessee.

This store is seriously impressive. The selection, cleanliness, variety of livestock, and overall setup made it easy to see why they’ve built such a strong reputation in the hobby.

We’re extremely grateful for every opportunity to work with established aquarium stores that support local breeders and give customers access to healthy, locally raised fish.

A huge thank you to The Aquatic Critter for working with Legacy Line Aquatics!

If you’re ever in the Nashville area, this is definitely a store worth stopping in and seeing for yourself.

One of my favorite parts of breeding fish is getting to watch the entire process from beginning to end.

These Philippine Blue Angelfish started as a clutch of eggs guarded by their parents, moved into a hatch tray, became tiny free-swimming fry, and eventually grew into the healthy juveniles you see at the end.

There’s a lot of feeding, water changes, sorting and patience between that first and last clip, but seeing the progression never gets old.

What stage of raising fish do you enjoy watching the most: eggs, tiny fry, or when they finally start looking like miniature adults?

CUSTOM AQUARIUM STANDS BUILT TO ORDER

Your aquarium stand should be more than something that simply holds the tank, it should be a strong, functional piece of furniture that complements your home.

We can build custom aquarium stands in nearly any size, layout, color, or style. Whether you prefer a natural oak finish, a painted furniture style cabinet, or a complete multi aquarium setup, every design can be customized around your aquarium, equipment, storage needs, and available space.

Our furniture-grade stands can include:

• Solid hardwood framing, face frames, and trim
• 3/4-inch cabinet grade plywood construction
• Solid backs with custom cord and plumbing access
• Natural or stained oak tops and edging
• Custom doors, shelving, hardware, and storage
• Protective finishes selected with aquatic use in mind
• Delivery, installation, and anti-tip anchoring options

These are not basic stands made from exposed 2×4 pine, MDF, or particleboard. Each stand is built to a high standard with the aquarium’s weight, moisture, maintenance access, and long-term use in mind. Our goal is to create something structurally sound, visually appealing, and capable of lasting a lifetime with proper care.

The images shown are custom design concepts demonstrating several styles we can build. Every stand is made to order and designed specifically for the customer.

Interested in having one built? Send us your aquarium’s dimensions, preferred stand height and depth, storage requirements, and any colors or styles you have in mind. We’ll work with you to create a design and provide a custom estimate.

We’re excited to officially add Mexican Dwarf Crayfish “Orange/CPO” to our growing list of breeding projects here at Legacy Line Aquatics!

The adults have settled in nicely, and we’re already seeing spawning behavior. It will still be a little while before the first generation is large enough to offer, but we’re excited to watch this project develop over the coming months.

These little crayfish are full of personality, stay much smaller than most crayfish species, and make an awesome addition to the right aquarium.

Have you ever kept Mexican Dwarf Crayfish before? If so, what’s your favorite thing about them? If you haven’t, would you add them to one of your aquariums?

We’d love to hear your experiences in the comments!
