🌿 Growing Forward™ Daily Encouragement | Sunday Surrender

🌿 SUNDAY SURRENDER | LORD, PRUNE WHAT YOU LOVE.

I’ve been thanking God this morning for something I haven’t always known how to thank Him for:

Correction.

Because I’m beginning to understand that when God puts His finger on something in my heart, He isn’t necessarily condemning me.

He may be cultivating me.

Proverbs 3:11–12 tells us His correction is rooted in love. And John 15 gives us an incredible picture: the Father is the Gardener, and even the branch already producing fruit gets pruned so that it can produce more.

Whew. 🌿

That means pruning doesn’t automatically mean you’re failing.

Sometimes you’re being prepared.

And I’m learning that surrender isn’t only saying, “God, I’ll go where You send me.”

Sometimes surrender sounds like:

“God, You can change me too.”

You can correct my thinking.
You can confront my motives.
You can expose my habits.
You can heal my reactions.
You can remove what I’ve gotten comfortable carrying.
You can prune anything in me that interferes with what You’re producing through me.

Yes, pruning can hurt.

But I’d rather experience the temporary discomfort of God’s pruning than protect something He is asking me to surrender.

So today I’m praying:

Lord, purify my heart. Prune what You love. And when Your correction comes, give me enough humility to receive it and enough faith to trust Your hands.

What might God be lovingly correcting—or pruning—in you during this season?

Don’t run from the Gardener.

Trust His hands. ✝️🌿

SATURDAY SELAH 🌿 | SEEK HIM. FIND HIM. REST.

What if the answer to our exhaustion isn’t getting everything under control?

What if it’s finally admitting:

We were never supposed to control everything?

We carry our finances.

Our families.

Our relationships.

Our businesses.

Our unanswered questions.

Our disappointments.

Even offenses against people we haven’t completely forgiven.

And then we wonder why our souls are tired.

But Scripture gives us another way:

Seek God.

Not merely for an answer.

Not merely for provision.

Not merely for the next opportunity.

Seek HIM.

Because intimacy with God changes what we require from everything else.

When God becomes our Source, people no longer have to be.

When God becomes our security, circumstances don’t have to be.

When God becomes our peace, everything around us doesn’t have to be peaceful for us to have peace.

And when God becomes our rest…

we can breathe even while we’re still waiting.

2 Chronicles 15:15 says they sought Him wholeheartedly, He was found by them, and He gave them rest.

Maybe that’s God’s invitation today.

Not:

“Figure everything out.”

But:

“Come closer.”

🙏🏽 Father, teach me to seek You before answers. Help me forgive what I’ve been holding, release what I’ve been carrying, and stop expecting people to provide what only You can give. I trust You with my family, finances, relationships, business, heart, and future. Quiet my mind and revive my spirit. Your face, Lord, will I seek. Teach me to rest in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Rest isn’t found when everything around you is finally settled. Rest is found when everything within you becomes settled in God.

🌿 Growing Forward™ | FRIDAY FAITH ✝️ | CAN GOD CORRECT YOU?

Yesterday, we talked about coming out of hiding.

But here’s the next question:

Once God brings something into the light, will we let Him change it?

Ouch. 😮‍💨

Faith isn’t only trusting God when He’s opening doors.

Faith is trusting Him when He’s closing one.

Faith isn’t only believing Him for provision.

It’s believing Him when He says, “Release that.”

Faith isn’t only receiving His promises.

It’s receiving His correction.

Proverbs 3:11–12 reminds us of something beautiful: God’s correction comes from His love and delight in His children.

So perhaps we need to stop interpreting correction as rejection.

God isn’t exposing areas of our lives because He’s finished with us.

He’s refining us because He isn’t finished with us. 🌿

So today I’m asking myself before I ask anyone else:

Can God correct me?

Can He challenge my thinking?

Can He interrupt my plans?

Can He confront my habits?

Can He tell me I was wrong?

Can He ask me to change?

And can my answer still be:

Yes, Lord. ❤️

🙏🏽 Father, give me a teachable heart. When You correct me, help me hear Your love instead of condemnation. Give me the courage to release whatever keeps me from becoming more like Jesus. I trust Your heart, even when Your hand is correcting me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sometimes our greatest prison doesn’t have walls—it has secrets.

We hide behind smiles.
We hide behind accomplishments.
We hide behind “I’m okay.”

Yet the very place we hide often becomes the place that keeps us from experiencing the freedom Jesus has already purchased.

Confession isn’t about exposing yourself to condemnation.

It’s about opening the door to healing.

God already knows every hidden place of your heart, and His invitation is not to shame you—it is to free you.

✨ Today, choose courage over concealment.
✨ Mercy over shame.
✨ Freedom over fear.

Wisdom Begins with Knowing Him

The world tells us to gather more information.

God tells us to pursue wisdom.

Wisdom isn’t simply knowing more…

It’s knowing Who to follow.

📖

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom…”
— Proverbs 4:7

And Peter reminds us:

His divine power has already given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him.
— 2 Peter 1:3

What a beautiful promise.

You may not have every answer today…

But if you have Christ…

You already have the Source of all wisdom.

Seek Him.

Trust Him.

Walk with Him.

Everything else will begin to find its proper place.

🙏🏽 Today’s Prayer

Lord, teach me to seek wisdom before success, Your presence before my plans, and Your voice above every distraction. Give me discernment to recognize Your leading and courage to follow wherever You direct. Thank You for already providing everything I need through Christ. Today, I choose to walk wisely with You. Amen.

Do You Truly See Jesus?

We can become so busy serving God…

That we stop sitting with Him.

We can become so focused on doing the right things…

That we forget the Person we’re doing them for.

Jesus never followed the noise of the culture.

He followed the voice of His Father.

And He invites us to do the same.

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
— John 10:27

Knowing Jesus isn’t about checking spiritual boxes.

It’s about walking in relationship.

Before we can reflect His light…

We must first spend time in His presence.

🙏🏽 Today’s Prayer

Jesus, I don’t want to know You from a distance. Draw me closer today. Quiet every competing voice so I can hear Yours. Teach me to love You more than ministry, obedience more than applause, and Your presence more than performance. Let my life point others to You and not to me. For Your glory alone. Amen.

Today I choose relationship over religion.

I desire to know Jesus more deeply.

I will listen for His voice above every other voice.

Are You Waiting Well?

Life often feels like a series of waiting rooms.

Waiting for healing.

Waiting for direction.

Waiting for provision.

Waiting for breakthrough.

But what if waiting isn’t a delay…

What if it’s discipleship?

Scripture reminds us:

📖

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
— Psalm 27:14

Waiting isn’t passive.

It’s active trust.

It’s choosing faith over fear while God continues writing your story.

Whether you’re entering a storm, standing in the middle of one, or finally coming out of one…

God is still faithful.

He’s still present.

And He’s still working.

🙏🏽 Today’s Prayer

Father, help me wait with hope instead of fear. Teach me to trust Your timing and not my own. Form my heart while You prepare my future. May I remember that waiting is never wasted when I’m waiting with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
