Dear Mayday Friends & Family,
It is with great sadness that I am writing you this heartfelt letter.
Our last day of business as Mayday Gun Range will be December 26th, 2023. My family has made the difficult choice to sell after losing my father, Jeff Day last December.
We want to thank you for your support these last 5 and a half years. Last December as I was writing my dad's obituary I included that he had helped over 700 people obtain their concealed carry permit and taught over 1,000 women basic gun safety and shooting. In addition to classes he offered private lessons and helped many of you purchase fi****ms and become stronger, more confident shooters. My dad was a true American Patriot and the range was a dream that I'm so happy I got to be a part of.
When my parents offered me a position here, I soon realized my job at Mayday was a treasured gift. In 2018, I started here as a brand new mom. Many of you have met my son, Hawkin, while visiting our range. He has likely tried to ring you out, talked your ear off or received a tip from you despite his reckless cashier skills. Nothing could ever top, what my parents gave me in hiring me as their manager ....time with my son.
Over the last few years my family has made many lasting friendships. My mother, Scarlet, who led a very successful women's league here, would agree with me that in the dark time of losing dad, that those friends became our biggest supporters.
Jessica Bunger, has been with us since day 1. She has been here for every up and down we've had here. No one could ever replace her loyalty and dedication to us. This place truly wouldn't be "Mayday" without Jess. She is a leader, incredibly intelligent, and one of the most selfless people I have ever met. Next to my dad, I will miss her most when it comes time to say goodbye.
Our staff over the years have been wonderful, hardworking people. Not one employee has quit on me since losing my dad a year ago....many past employees have been by my side to help as well. Ron Lewis & Ron Cox quickly became best friends with my dad thanks to this place. They, amongst many others have become friends we will hold dear forever.
I am going to miss this place more than words. Getting to work under my dad is something I'll never regret or forget. He taught me so much about guns and life. While I am sad to be closing, I know that my dad would want me to celebrate our time together here, the success we've had, and friends we've made. He would want me to reflect on Mayday with joy. So with that, I wanted to share a few photos.
Thank you Mom & Dad for the opportunity.
Thank you, friends, for the support.
Thank you for trusting my family to serve you. Thank you for the memories ๐ค
With gratitude,
Moriah Day, Scarlet Day & The Day Family
