The Wallbangers (VAW-117) Welcome to the Official page of the VAW-117 Wallbangers, the Navy's finest Hawkeye Squadron!

Stay tuned for updates and contact the PAO with any questions, comments or concerns. Composed of over 180 Sailors, VAW-117 operates five E-2D Hawkeyes. The Hawkeye is a twin-engine turbo-prop carrier based command and control aircraft. Equipped with a highly capable radar and communications suite, the Hawkeye and the 5 aircrew are an integral part of the carrier strike group and air wing of the future.

This week’s Sailor Spotlight is AZ2 Select Marvin Serrano! He’s from Accokeek, MD and enjoys spending his free time exercising and going on runs. He gives a shoutout to his mother, siblings, friends from church in MD, AZ shop, and Chiefs Arbizu and Wright! Congrats again on the recent advancement!
