Book Tour kicking off soon with Emmy award winning comedian & actor, Katt Williams. MahoganyBooks is the bookstore partner for the DC stop at the Lincoln Theatre.

In his memoir, Katt details the grit and unwavering self-belief that fueled his ascent from an impromptu set at a small Florida comedy club to commanding audiences worldwide. He funded his own tours, kept his ownership, and he learned early that if you’re going to be underestimated, you might as well profit from it.

🚨It’s official, family!
MahoganyBooks at Woodmore Towne Centre in Glenarden, MD (Prince George’s County —right outside DC),
is NOW OPEN as of Aug. 29, 2026.

What a tremendous blessing to do this work that not only impacts us personally, but also our family, and the community around us. We never take a day of it for granted. How could we?

Thank you to so many customers who’ve been rolling with us since we were doing pop-ups around the city, to our DC location in Anacostia, to National Harbor, and now Woodmore Towne Centre in MD.

Some folks say we make it look easy, but every entrepreneur knows the countless hours of calls, prayers, emails, late nights, strategy planning, financial prowess, and energy it takes to create something from scratch. We’re extremely blessed to do this work, and our community show up time-and time-again.

Over the next few months, we’ll continue to add more books and gifts, learn our customer needs in this new space, and serve. These are exciting times!

Overjoyed that our grand opening coincided with the inaugural Black Bookstore Day created by LaTasha of Left on Read Bookstore. Our bookstore friends across the nation are powerful!
