17 Years in Business… and Still Learning
For 17 years, we’ve had the privilege of serving this community. During that time, customers have become friends, and we’ve walked through so many seasons of life together—celebrations, weddings, graduations, new babies, retirements, losses, and everything in between.
And even after 17 years, I’m still learning lessons about business and life.
One thing I’ve learned lately is that there are no guarantees in business. You can build friendships, provide quality work, try your best to offer good turnaround times, and genuinely care about the people you serve—and sometimes they will still choose to go somewhere else.
Sometimes it’s about price. Sometimes it isn’t. Sometimes people simply want to try something different.
And if I’m truthful, it still hurts.
When you’ve poured so much of yourself into a business and built relationships with people over the years, it’s hard not to take it personally when they choose to go somewhere else. I think that hurt comes because we’ve never looked at the people who walk through our doors as just customers. We’ve cared about them, their families, their stories, and the things they’ve trusted us to create.
But I’m learning that it’s okay.
My job isn’t to worry about where someone chooses to spend their money. My job is to keep doing what I know to do: treat people well, provide the best quality work we can, stand behind what we do, appreciate every person who walks through our doors, and never take anyone’s business for granted.
After 17 years, maybe one of the biggest lessons is this:
Do your best. Be thankful for every opportunity. Keep your heart in the right place. And put the rest in the Lord’s hands.
We are incredibly grateful for every person who has supported our small family business over these 17 years—whether you’ve been with us from the beginning, found us somewhere along the way, or simply trusted us with one special project.
Every order has mattered. Every relationship has mattered.
And as for what comes next, we’ll just keep showing up, doing our very best, and trusting God with the rest❣️
