Joie Des Livres is a small family run bookstore and we are looking for someone to join our team starting in September. We are looking for a warm and effervescent individual who loves reading and talking about books with others. Our bookseller position is a guest facing position where you will be required to interact with customers and handle book related questions on a daily basis. Requirements:
* Previous retail experience encouraged
* Good people skills
* Good communication skills
* General book knowledge
* Basic Computer Skills
* Quick Learner
* Able to lift up to 50lbs
* Able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours
Responsibilities:
* Greeting, chatting with customers, checking in with customers to see if they need assistance, and helping locate books
* Assisting Customers with requests and book recommendations
* Alphabetizing the books by last name of author for the customers to locate easily
* Listen to customers to gain a thorough understanding of what they need
* Frequent checking of the bookshelves and display stands to ensure merchandise is well-stocked and well-maintained
* Provide exemplary customer service throughout the shift
* Process business transactions, handle cash, process debit/credit cards transactions, and perform returns or exchanges
Schedule:
* We are hiring for 32 (+/-) hours a week
Compensation Package:
* Hourly Pay starting at $20 per hour, based on experience
(room for growth and advancement)
