This woman was loved. Drawers and bags filled with greeting cards & people sending their love, birthday wishes, Christmas peace and more. She was a generous giver as well - gift bags and tissue paper galore!! First day of Estate Sale prep with Carol is in the books. We touched everything in the kitchen and dining room - as well as at least one of the hall closets. Yes, unfortunately that Rubbermaid laundry basket is filled with expired canned goods… The oven and dishwasher were filled with pots, pans, platters, electric knives, and more. I’ll share that hilarious photo in my stories.

I was certain Donkey was going to go down for a third roll. Instead, he came over to the fence for some validation. Sweet Pea and Donkey had their hooves trimmed yesterday. Sweet Pea was pretty chill the whole time. Donkey only did one buck in the air like a circus act…

Happy September! Going back to school for me in my early years involved, plaid jumpers, button-down shirts, and sensible, leather shoes. Did I go to Catholic elementary school? Yes, I did! When I switched over to public school, going back to school involved my mom sewing many of my clothes, and buying a new pair of school shoes. These pumpkins and more will be listed in my handmade shop, bittersweet design on Etsy soon.

Saturday is usually my clothing laundry day. One of my favorite household tools is this folding/rolling laundry basket holder. Purchased from one of my dear friend Hazel and Bill’s yard sales a multitude of years ago, this piece is an absolute workhorse. When it’s not in use it folds up and hangs on our back porch wall. Look at the last photo to see how it folds up and opens single-handedly. I couldn’t do it without it!

I’ve put myself on an ‘every other day’ schedule… Two days ago I cleaned out my refrigerator and freezer, yesterday I worked/played on the Barbie journals that have been on the back burner for quite some time. Given my druthers, I would only create, or list fun vintage stuff. But the chores sit there and stare at me… so now they go in a jar. Little pink slips of paper with all those things around the house that scream at me to be done. Every other day, I will choose a slip, and do that chore. Opposite those days I get to choose out of the fun jar and do something fun! How do you manage it all when you are chief Cook and bottle washer? I’d love to know!

It’s the 25th! That means it’s time for Christmas listings - again! All of these items will be finding their way into my Missing Heirloom shop within the next day or so. Angel stickers, ‘stained glass’ ornaments, beaded push pin ornaments, brass JOY candlesticks, handmade card basket and more.

My Basil, Rosemary, Lavender and Borage went wild while I was away! These were once planted in the herb garden in the side kitchen yard. The front gardens by the porch always had flowers in them. However, gardens, & shade changes - this front area will have to be the new place for many of my herbs.
