📦 The mail-in repairs are coming in steady! 👓

A lot of computer repair shops stick with the basics — virus removal, Windows reloads, upgrades, and the usual computer repairs.

Not us.

We’re constantly learning, experimenting, and expanding our repair arsenal so we can offer services that other shops may not be willing to tackle.

Our latest adventure has been Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, and what started as us learning how to repair a few locally has quickly turned into glasses being mailed to us from across the country. 🇺🇸

This bench is what our mail-in area is starting to look like!

We still can’t repair every problem — especially when replacement parts aren’t available — but if it’s something we believe we can fix, we’re willing to take a shot at it.

From a small computer repair shop in Pahrump, Nevada to repairing devices shipped in from around the nation… we’re just getting started. 💪

📦 Mail-in repairs are OPEN and being accepted.

Just another totally normal day behind the scenes at Mastertech… 😂

I overhear the guys talking about some of the *questionable* games you can find on Steam, so of course I had to jump in.

Honestly, the random conversations in the back of the shop are sometimes better than the actual repair work.

This PS5 came in absolutely filthy… but the dirt wasn’t the biggest problem. 🎮

After a full teardown and cleaning, we inspected the HDMI port and found a damaged pad underneath it. That meant this wasn’t going to be a simple HDMI port replacement.

We carefully scratched back the enamel to expose the trace, ran a jumper wire, and rebuilt the damaged connection before installing the HDMI port.

Then comes the stressful part… reassembly and waiting to see if that HDMI signal actually pops up on the screen. 😬 If it doesn’t, we’re tearing it all back apart and starting the diagnosis over again.

This time — SUCCESS! HDMI kicked in and another PS5 was saved. 🙌

These Ray-Ban Meta glasses had a weird problem — every time you put them on or moved the arm, the red light would flash and the glasses would completely shut off.

Once I removed the side panel, I found two gold contacts that connect to two pins inside the arm. A small hairline crack was allowing that panel to separate just enough for those contacts to lose connection.

I tested my theory by pinching the panel tightly against the arm and moving it around — no red light and no shutdown. Found it! 🔍

I epoxied the panel securely back into position and let it fully cure. Now I can open and close the arm while the glasses are recording and they stay powered on. Another pair saved! 👓

I’m still learning these repairs as they come in, but every pair teaches me something new.

This iPhone would hit the Apple logo, reboot, and repeat. 🔄📱

From past experience, I already had a pretty good idea what was causing it. The proximity/ambient light sensor and earpiece speaker assembly had failed.

As soon as I disconnected that assembly, the iPhone booted normally. We plugged in a replacement we had in stock and boom it fired right up!

⚠️ If you see this problem, don't immediately factory reset the phone. A restore can fail and leave you with wiped data, and trying an update through iTunes may not fix it either.

If your local repair shop is struggling with an iPhone stuck in an Apple-logo boot loop, send them this video. It might save your data AND your phone.

Ray-Ban Meta repairs are starting to roll in! 👓

Three more pairs just arrived, and so far I’m 4 for 4 on the repairs I’ve attempted.

Right now, I’m only charging $30 labor because I’m still learning these glasses. Every pair I take apart teaches me something new, and everyone who has mailed theirs in so far understands that they’re basically my guinea pigs while I perfect the process. 😂

So before you send yours, here’s what you need to know:

If you have a cracked/broken hinge and the flex cable and connector are still intact, SEND THEM IN.

If the flex cable or connector has been ripped off, DON’T SEND THEM. I can’t get those replacement parts yet.

If you’re not sure, send me pictures first. Just give me a few days to get through my DMs.

And if you expect your glasses to come back looking factory brand new, PLEASE DON’T SEND THEM IN YET.

These repairs can involve epoxy, clamping, scraping away dried adhesive and experimenting with different glues. There may be cosmetic marks or residue afterward. I’m currently experimenting with other adhesives like B-7000 that may give me a cleaner finished repair.

I’d rather be completely upfront about that than have someone unhappy with the finished product.

I can currently source some screws, and batteries should be available by the end of the month, but I’m still searching for other replacement parts.

I seriously appreciate everyone trusting us with their glasses while I learn these repairs.

$30 labor.
No fix = no charge.
You pay shipping both ways.

7 PS5 controllers lined up for the same upgrade. 🎮

One by one, they get torn down, boards lined up, old analog sticks removed, and brand-new TMR magnetic sticks soldered into place.

Then everything goes back together in order and every controller gets individually calibrated and tested.

✅ 7 controllers
✅ 14 TMR magnetic sticks
✅ Calibrated & tested
✅ Everything working perfectly

TMR magnetic sticks are a great upgrade when repairing stick drift and replacing worn-out factory analog sticks.

I may have set my dad up a little too perfectly on this one. 😂

He only comes into the shop every once in a while to help out, so I figured I'd ask him how he'd handle a difficult situation...

Then I changed the question on him. 😈

The look on his face when he realized what I did says EVERYTHING. 😂 Sorry, Dad!

This customer dropped his phone in liquid chlorine for almost 5 minutes. 😳 He rinsed it off, threw it in rice, and brought it to us after it stopped turning on.

We completely disassembled it, cleaned away the corrosion with BW-100, and carefully put everything back together.

Then came the moment of truth… 🙏😂

It powered up, started charging, and everything worked! The only casualty was the rear camera, which had some fogging and dark spots. He opted not to replace it, but if he changes his mind, he can bring it back within 90 days and we'll replace it for just the cost of the part.

Sometimes your phone needs more than the power of prayer… or maybe not. 😂🙏

This customer got VERY lucky!
