Captions sometimes feel so disconnected with what I’m feeling.. trying to sell this or that.. this post is to just be present as I process grief.. just improvising, playing very imperfectly.. all I hope for is that my music may guide you to a peaceful place as it does for me. I pray for your healing. I pray you observe the negative stories you tell yourself and let go of all of them. They aren’t you.. you are exactly where you need to be, find peace in that.. find love in your heart again if it feels broken, love yourself. A new era of Chroma Drum is here.

Since the inception of my business, my dream has been simple. To create instruments that move you to your core. Instruments you would call your ‘Muse’.

Over the past 12 years of building, running this company, and stepping more deeply into my life as a musician, one truth has remained constant. The quality of the instrument shapes everything.

When it comes to handpans, we all know the difference the moment we touch one. A truly great instrument changes how you feel about playing. Even a single note can sparkle in a way that opens the imagination and paints dreams of other worlds.

For me, that feeling has meant something much deeper. In a world that can feel full of darkness, this music has given me a way to hold onto the light. To tell stories. To share beauty. To create moments that reconnect us to our hearts.

I’m incredibly proud to announce the newest refinement of our Chroma Drum handpans. After years of dedication to the craft, these instruments have reached a level of precision and craftsmanship that I feel deeply proud of. Honestly, I haven’t played instruments this inspiring in years.

There have been moments in my life when I felt completely hopeless. In those moments, I returned to my instruments and began to create. I’ve said before that this instrument saved my life. And the truth is, it really did. It pulled me out of some of the darkest places I’ve ever known and helped me find hope again.

This is my mission now. To share that same hope and faith with others through these instruments and through music.

Because music can save lives.

This B minor Celtic carries a familiar magic, yet it feels deeper and more alive than expected.

At its core, this scale is grounding and earthy, with that unmistakable Celtic pull that feels ancient, noble, and emotive. The low B anchors everything, giving the instrument a steady heartbeat that invites confidence and flow. Melodies arrive easily here. Nothing feels forced. It wants to be played, explored, and trusted.

As you move through the notes, there is a natural sense of lift and return. Minor phrases feel rich and introspective, while the surrounding tones offer openness and motion. It has a gentle momentum to it, like walking through rolling hills where every turn reveals a slightly different mood. Expressive without being heavy, emotive without becoming dark.

What makes this 13 note layout special is its balance. There is space for simplicity and space for expansion. You can sit in meditative repetition or build layered phrases that feel musical, resolved, and full bodied. It supports both intuitive playing and more intentional progressions with ease.

This scale opened a door I did not expect.

On the top side alone, it lives in the shadows. Mysterious, intimate, almost whispered. It invites slow phrases, unanswered questions, and melodies that feel ancient and cinematic. There is a quiet gravity here that pulls you inward, making space for reflection and depth.

Then the bottom notes enter, and everything changes.

What was once restrained begins to bloom. Emotion multiplies. The instrument suddenly holds contrast and choice. Alongside its darker tones, clear major progressions reveal themselves, giving the scale a hearty, forward-moving feel. Moments of lift and optimism emerge naturally, like shimmers of light weaving through the shadows. There is playfulness here too, a sense of motion and curiosity that invites exploration rather than resolution.

The emotional range this creates is unlike anything I have experienced on a handpan. You can move from introspective and brooding into warmth, joy, and momentum without ever leaving the instrument’s core identity. It feels alive, responsive, and deeply expressive, meeting you wherever you are and offering multiple pathways forward.

This handpan rewards patience and curiosity. Gentle players will find nuance and mystery. Explorers will uncover layered harmonies, major lifts, and unexpected turns. Whether you linger in the shadows or let the brighter phrases rise to the surface, this instrument feels like a companion for storytelling through sound.

It is rare to find a scale that holds both depth and light so gracefully. This one continues to surprise me every time I sit down to play it.

Practicing my paradiddle chops and not really giving much care if it sounds musical or not 😅

A paradiddle is a common drum rudiment that involves two single strokes followed by a double stroke -> RLRR or LRLL. In this case, RLRRL repeated while maintaining tempo and remaining in count / sequence.
