Today is Cally’s birthday! 🎂
For those of you who are new here, hi! 👋🏻 I’m Cally, and my family started My Flavor It Place in 2003, the summer I turned 13.
Yes, you can do the math. No, I will not be confirming your answer 😂🤔
It all began when my mom and uncle bought a tiny, hole-in-the-wall shaved ice, ice cream and sandwich shop in downtown Lake Zurich and called it Uncle T’s. Shoutout to everyone who remembers the OG Uncle T’s! You have officially been here long enough to know my real age 😉🍧
Over the years, we have changed names, changed our menu, opened locations, closed locations and grown in ways we never could have imagined.
Today, we are rocking our Palatine and Wauconda shops, an event trailer and a mobile dessert truck, all while raising two small humans of our own.
Because apparently we looked at running multiple ice cream shops and thought, “You know what this needs? More wheels and two small children.” 🤪
It has been a lot. A wonderful, rewarding, exhausting and occasionally held-together-by-soft-serve kind of lot 🍦
It has truly been a wild ride, and My Flavor It Place would not be what it is today without the years of support from my family (especially my husband Chris 😘), our hardworking team and our amazing customers. Small business ownership brings out the best in you, challenges you in ways you never expected and teaches you just how much you are capable of 💪🏻
We hope that when you visit one of our shops or enjoy a sweet treat at an event, you can feel the love and care behind it all, along with years of hard work, happy memories and more than a few tears! 😅
