Refill my MamaSuds non-toxic, eco-friendly, borate-free powder detergent with me!

Did you know - when you shop our refillery prices - 50 ounces of MamaSuds powder detergent, can yield approximately 64 to 128 loads in a high-efficiency (HE) washer?! (50-100 loads in a standard washer) this brings each load of laundry to 10¢ - 20¢.

In comparison, 50 ounces of a generic commercial powder detergent yields only about 33-44 loads - since standard brands call for 1/4 to 1/3 cup per load.

The black-and-yellow garden spider is August's most misunderstood employee. She's big, she's dramatic, and that zigzag down the middle of her web looks like a warning sign — so every year, thousands of them get a broom instead of a thank-you.

Here's what she's actually doing: clearing your beds of grasshoppers, beetles, wasps, and mosquitoes, all night, every night, for zero dollars. She has no interest in you. Garden spiders almost never bite unless they're grabbed, and even then it's milder than a bee sting.

She'll take down more pests in a week than a bottle of spray — without touching a single pollinator that doesn't blunder into the web.

So if she's set up shop between the tomatoes, let her keep the lease. Walk around. She's earned it.

I’m so thankful for all of your support in this little venture of mine - for our first monthly highlighted organization - we took a stroll down the Sonny McCoy Indigenous Park (all native plants!) to Audubon Pond (the only natural freshwater pond on the island!) This 7 acre green space is also home to The Key West Wildlife Center.

“The Key West Wildlife Center provides rescue and rehabilitative care to over 1400 wild birds annually. We also provide rescue services for sea turtles, tortoises, as well as marine and land mammals. We provide 24-hour emergency rescue services for wildlife in Key West and the lower Keys. Our focus is on rescuing, rehabilitating, and returning our avian patients to the wild. We work closely with other local and regional rescue groups to provide rehabilitation for non-avian species.”

By next week we should have some spray and pump jars in stock - for now if you want to come refill some all purpose cleaner or castille soap - I’d recommend bringing your own spray/ pump container! 🤎

Some tips for visiting our refillery:

- Clean, dry containers. Bring old spice jars, mason jars, empty bottles, cloth bags... reusing plastic containers is absolutely fine. Dry matters more than clean for dry goods (any moisture can clog dispensers or spoil grains); for liquids, just rinse well and let them air dry.

- Bring a bag or bin to carry filled containers home. Liquids in particular can be top-heavy, and a sturdy tote saves you from a spill in the car. (We also sell reusable bags for $12 each!)
