Ladies, sometimes you can be with someone for a long time and they never see you. The story behind this picture is as follows:
We had no power inside of our home we had no heat inside of our home. Every morning I or he would go to our backyard and would build our fire, the man that I was with would go out and work and come home. I was bathing my children with the water heated up from the fire pit. I cooked my meals on the fire pit. I never complained. I was in love. I felt that we could conquer the world together. I felt that he was God's gift to me. I also felt less than, incomplete, and lacking. I felt that I was not good enough for him. He had a way of speaking beautiful words to me, and then turning around and making me feel like s**t. We had many struggles and many trials, and he would always say that our love would get us through. During this time this was one of the many hardships we were enduring. One winter he went to go see his family for the holidays and while he was gone our heat went out. I called and told him and instead of him coming back to help us he stayed with his family and his daughters. The end result was my children getting very ill and one of them being hospitalized. I say all of this to say no matter how thorough you are no matter how much you grow no matter how much you strive to be the perfect woman for a man ( or woman ) if that person is not for you it will never work. I left so many times only to come back and try again in hopes of giving my children a two-parent home. I was taught that a single woman could not raise successful well-balanced children. And I never wanted my children to feel as if they missed something by not having a father in their life. Know you're worth ladies. Understand you may not be for everyone. Understand that as a single person you will come across hardships but you can overcome them. Know and understand that loving words don't mean s**t if there are abusive words that follow shortly thereafter. Abuse comes in many forms not always physical. To this day I still have to fight some of the negative things spoken to me over that 8-year period of time spent with someone who was unhappy with himself.
