🎉 Celebrating a Swap Meet Legend — Mr. Varela Turns 90! 🎉

Today we’re honoring one of our most beloved vendors, Mr. Varela of Space -01, who just celebrated an incredible 90th birthday!

Mr. Varela has been part of our swap meet family since 1994, helping generations of shoppers find the perfect cookware — from his famous big tamale pots to all kinds of kitchen accessories. If you’ve ever stopped by his booth, you know his warm smile and dedication are just as legendary as his products.

He also has a lot to celebrate outside of the swap meet - he’s been happily married to his wonderful wife since 1957! 👀 His eyesight is still sharp, and he recently had his driver’s license renewed for another 5 years. Proof that age is just a number. He credits his longevity to maintaining a mostly vegetarian lifestyle and staying active doing what he loves.

Please join us in wishing Mr. Varela a very happy 90th birthday and thanking him for decades of being part of our community. If you see him at C-01, be sure to say hello and share your birthday wishes! 🎂💛
