☦️ Something very special has arrived just in time for the final weekend of the Alaska State Fair. We have a beautiful new collection of icons from the Sofia workshop in Moscow!
These icons made quite a journey to get here straight to our State Fair booth!

The photographs really don't quite capture these. Each icon is extraordinarily detailed, with beautiful silvered metalwork, hand-applied enamel and genuine semi-precious stones set as cabochons. Depending on the icon, the natural stones are amethyst, agate, rose quartz, jadeite, jasper, labradorite and others. The stones and enamel give each piece a depth and richness that really needs to be seen in person.
There are so many little details to discover — inscriptions, angels, flowers, stars, birds and other symbolic elements worked into the metalwork surrounding the holy image.

These would make truly exquisite wedding or anniversary gifts, Name Day gifts, or — for those of you who are already thinking ahead - a very special Christmas gift for someone you love.

We're back at the Alaska State Fair! 🎡
After a very busy few days of setting everything up, our little Holy Archangel Candles booth is finally ready to go! We brought a little bit of everything this year—lots and lots of icons, crosses, prayer ropes, jewelry, church goods, and of course plenty of our 100% beeswax candles. 😊
We also have a particularly nice selection of Alaskan icons this year, including St. Herman, St. Innocent, St. Peter the Aleut, and lots of beautiful new icons of St. Olga of Alaska!
If you're coming out to the fair, please stop by and say hello! We always enjoy seeing old friends and meeting new ones. ☦️

There are some icons that become especially dear to us over the years. For me, the Sitka Mother of God has always been one of them.
There is something about this icon that I have always found incredibly peaceful. Perhaps it's the gentle expression of the Mother of God, or simply the countless prayers that have been offered before this wonderworking image through the generations.
Whatever the reason, I've long wanted to offer a pendant featuring this beloved icon.
My hope is that it serves as a small reminder throughout the day to lift our hearts to Christ and to seek the prayers of His Most Pure Mother.

We are very excited to finally again be able to offer these beautiful embroidered Saint Olga of Alaska head coverings which are back in stock!
Each veil is made from soft flowing tulle with detailed floral embroidery and the words:
“Rejoice, Saint Olga, our gentle mother.”
Inspired by the warmth, gentleness, and quiet holiness of Saint Olga herself, these coverings were designed to feel graceful, prayerful, and distinctly Orthodox.
Available in several colors, each one has its own unique character while keeping the same elegant traditional style. We especially love how the light catches the embroidery and sheer fabric in church settings.

We’re also excited to share that a brand-new shipment of our beautiful Matushka Olga lace headscarves has just arrived. Each scarf is delicately embroidered with the words: ‘Rejoice, Saint Olga, our gentle mother.’

They will be available in our booth at the Alaska State Fair tomorrow!

It's that time of year again when we look forward to seeing you at the Alaska State Fair! This is our 10th year at the fair, and as always, we strive to bring a little bit of everything from our home shop. This year in addition to offering many of our most popular items, we have a lovely assortment of Matushka Olga icons, crosses, pendants, magnets, scarfs, akathists, and gift items. We will be doing spotlight posts throughout the fair to showcase some of these newer items. We look forward to visiting and sharing our new items with you!
