Hi, I’m Eryn 👋🏼 (some people call me Dr. M 🤓)

Anatomy professor. Physical therapist. Educator. Entrepreneur. Mom. And someone who genuinely believes that anatomy should be understood—not just memorized. 🧠💪🏼

I’ve spent my career teaching future physical therapists how to take what they learn in the anatomy lab and actually use it to understand movement, injury, and patient care.

That passion eventually grew beyond the classroom and into Anatomy Ink Motion—a business I created to find better, more visual and engaging ways to teach anatomy.

But there’s a lot more happening behind the scenes than anatomy. 🤍

I’m a mom, wife, traveler, dog mom, and someone who loves being on the water with my family. I’m also constantly dreaming up the next thing—whether that’s a new course, a better way to teach a difficult concept, or an idea that probably gets added to an already-too-long list. 😂

Right now, I’m especially excited about where all of this is heading.

My goal is to bridge the gap between learning anatomy and thinking clinically—creating resources that help students stop asking:

“How do I memorize all of this?”

…and start asking:

“What does this mean for my patient?”

If you’re a PT student, clinician, anatomy educator, or just someone who loves learning about the human body—you’re in the right place.

There’s a lot more coming. 🧠✨

The 12 Cranial Nerves — where they EXIT and what they DO.
Your brain doesn’t use the spinal cord to get to your head and neck. It has its own private exits called foramina.
Save this for exams:
I Cribriform plate - Smell
II Optic canal - Vision
III, IV, V1, VI Superior orbital fissure - Eye movers + sensation
V2 Foramen rotundum - Mid-face
V3 Foramen ovale - Lower face + chewing
VII & VIII Internal acoustic meatus → VII exits via stylomastoid foramen
IX, X, XI Jugular foramen - Throat, voice, organs
XII Hypoglossal canal - Tongue
Which foramen do you always mix up? Rotundum vs. Ovale gets everyone.

🫀 How blood flows through your heart in 4 beats ⬇️
Your heart is basically a two-sided pump that keeps you alive 24/7. Here’s the VIP route blood takes:
RIGHT SIDE = To the lungs 🫁
1️⃣ Deoxygenated blood enters the right atrium from your body via the superior + inferior vena cava
2️⃣ Tricuspid valve → right ventricle
3️⃣ Pulmonary valve → pulmonary arteries → lungs to pick up O2 + drop CO2
LEFT SIDE = To the body 💪
4️⃣ Oxygenated blood returns to left atrium via pulmonary veins
5️⃣ Mitral valve → left ventricle = the powerhouse
6️⃣ Aortic valve → aorta → out to every cell in your body
Then repeat. ∼100,000 times a day. No breaks. No complaints.
Remember it like this:
Body → Right → Lungs → Left → Body
Valves = doors. Atria = upstairs. Ventricles = downstairs.
Pro tip for students: Make a fist with both hands. Put them together — that’s roughly your heart. Right hand = right side, left hand = left side.
Save this for your next exam 📚✨

The palmaris longus…..is it necessary!? In a recent study it was shown that the palmaris longus was present in 92.50% of the participants, with a higher occurrence in females and more frequently on the left upper limb. Interestingly, there is no significant impact of the absence of the PL on grip strength. The absence of the PL not affecting grip strength implies that there are several other factors influencing grip strength. Hence, using the PL for reconstructive surgeries may not cause any functional disorder or hamper daily activity in any profession.
