Green Mom Boutique owner and designer, Sheíla Hoffer, lives in Central Pennsylvania with her husband and four sons. Hoffer began her love of sewing even before she started kindergarten. Growing up in a large family of humble means, Hoffer quickly realized that through imagination and determination, she could enjoy the same things as her peers at school. The only difference was that if Sheíla wante
d it, she had to "create" it. What some may have viewed as a hardship, Hoffer viewed as a challenge calling out to be conquered. Sheíla learned the art of "upcycling" with style from her resourceful mother before the term had even been coined. She used materials from around her home to make her own dolls, doll furniture, and even a doll house. The lemons she turned into lemonade sparked a love of design and a passion for "creating". Her upbeat attitude and sunny disposition shine through everything she does, and everything she creates. When Sheíla became a mother, the values of upcycling and recycling, in addition to the growing concern over negative effects of preservatives, chemicals and pesticides, came to the forefront again. While these concerns became increasingly important to her, Hoffer refused to compromise style and function in her "creations". Her determination to create "greener" products for her own family, coupled with her background in design, brought the passions colliding, thus Green Mom Boutique was born. Green Mom Boutique officially opened in 2010, but the custom order crafts were only available to local clientele in the Hershey, PA area.
