Unfortunately, one of the hurdles I had to overcome at the last contest I competed at was the A/C unit on my trailer decided to lay down on me. But as luck would have it, we have one of the absolute best services available in our area in CRS Mobile RV Service, and they have always taken great care of anything I’ve needed with the Q-Choo. This was no exception as their team had us all outfitted with a brand new unit that will spit out ice cubes in the most brutal of summer heat, and they had it ready to roll in no time! If you’re having trouble with anything to do with your camper or RV, or just routine maintenance to keep things rolling, they are worth their weight in gold to check out and let them solve any issues you have with relative ease.

Still got some tasty eats left up here for the inaugural Palmyra Christmas in July event. Those prime briskets we were stressing over this morning have been systematically making their way off our Drum Smokers and into some hungry patron’s bellies. Come on by and get some supper if you don’t feel like cooking, and be sure to stop by our neighbors Bean Coffee Co. for some amazing concoctions that are easy to get addicted to (I recommend the Dirty Sodas).
All out of hashbrown casserole, and there’s some other faves that are dwindling fast, so come on by and see us before it’s too late!

Alright Q Mooniverse, here’s your lineup for next Saturday at Palmyra Park. We’re looking at a pretty sizeable crowd, so be sure to come on out and be apart of a great inaugural event. Gonna start out with some breakfast for everyone around 9 am, and BBQ will be ready shortly thereafter. Come on by and say hi, and get your belly full while checking out all the great local vendors!

We are so back!! Hoping to see plenty of you a couple of weeks from now at Palmyra Park for the Christmas in July vendors event. We are putting the finishing touches on all of our menu offerings, but we know for sure it will include our award winning brisket, burnt ends, and pulled pork made from some of the highest quality proteins out there, and it won’t cost you an arm & a leg to get your fill. Looking forward to seeing a great crowd for this 1st year event, and looking forward to for y’all!!!

Ok, 24 hours is up.

I decided 9 months off the competition trail was long enough and ventured down to Sullivan, MO for the Inaugural Meramec Pitmaster Classic sanctioned by the SLBS. Hats off to Morgan Kirk for an exceptional job of organizing this event and for the awesome breakfast burritos & coffee Saturday morning.

A brief synopsis of the trip included some hurdles to overcome, some incredible proteins from Competition Meats, and a whole lotta hard work to get to turn ins. I have to keep reminding myself just how much of a privilege it is to compete at this level, and just how far I’ve come.

Cook was fairly consistent, with some rust on details, and that’s all it took to submarine us toward the bottom of the standings. Could I get mad about some scores? Sure, but how does that help me improve? Only one way to do that is to beat the man in the mirror. Excuses are nothing but a hurdle. Anyway, enough yammering from me, here’s our results for all the fans & haters:
