The Sippin' & Shuckin' Oyster and Champagne Rodeo!

Partner Spotlight: Stephen & Lacy at Yard Bar Smoked Meats

Well butter my biscuit and chill my champagne, y’all… it’s time to brag on some of my FAVORITE folks in this whole dang town.

If you don’t already know Yard Bar Smoked Meats and the legends behind it, Lacy and Stephen Counts, then sugar, you better pull up a chair, grab a flute, and pay attention.

These two are the heartbeat of backyard hospitality, the reigning royalty of smoked goodness, and the kind of partners who roll up their sleeves and sparkle while doin’ it. They’ve been with us through wild ideas, big dreams, and more events than I can count on my boot studs.

So when I started plannin’ the Sippin’ & Shuckin’ Oyster & Champagne Rodeo, guess who was first on my list?

That’s right - the Counts Crew. Because every great party needs flavor, love, and a little bit of Yard Bar smoke drifting through the air like a cowboy prayer.

So raise a glass, clink it twice, and holler a yee-haw for the folks helpin’ us make New Year’s weekend the sparkliest rodeo the Gulf Coast has ever seen.

Lacy, Stephen… Pearl Boots loves ya. 😘

Now let’s shuck, sip, and celebrate, darlin’.

xoxo,
Pearl Boots

A Very Elf History of S’mores

Because what else would Buddy snack on at a Christmas movie night?

Before we were toasting marshmallows at downtown pop-ups and holiday screenings, the humble s’more was already winning hearts across America—and it all started with campfire mischief.

1910s–1920s: The First Sticky Clue

Somewhere between Girl Scouts, campfire circles, and marshmallow-loving kids, a layered treat started appearing in early cookbooks: graham cracker + chocolate + toasted marshmallow.
It didn’t have a proper name yet… but everyone knew it was magic.

1927: The Official Birth of the S’more

The Girl Scouts finally made it official with a recipe called “Some More” in their Tramping and Trailing handbook.
Why “Some More”?
Because that’s literally what every single person said after taking a bite.

Mid-Century to Now: The Great American Campfire Icon
S’mores took over camping trips, summer nights, scout jamborees. And now?

Holiday movie nights. Outdoor screenings. Festivals.

Your living room.

Anywhere there’s fire, chocolate, and joy.

Buddy the Elf Fun Fact

If Buddy invented a s’more, it would probably be:

Two waffles instead of graham crackers
A chocolate syrup waterfall
And a marshmallow stack as tall as him

But we’re sticking to the classic tonight. 😉

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: JEFFERY & JESSICA BOUET

Live at the Sippin’ & Shuckin’ Oyster & Champagne Rodeo on New Year’s Eve!

We are beyond thrilled to announce that the incredibly talented Jeffery and Jessica Bouet of Bouet Music are officially joining our NYE musician lineup!

If you’ve ever heard them perform, you already know:
Their sound is warm, soulful, and magnetic - the kind of music that wraps around a room and makes every moment feel cinematic. Jeffery’s rich vocals and guitar paired with Jessica’s ethereal harmonies create a musical chemistry that’s rare, intimate, and unforgettable.

AND they make us want to dance!

Help us welcome them to the Sippin’ & Shuckin’ family - we can’t wait to share this night with them, and with YOU.

Let’s ring in 2026 with style, soul, and a whole lot of sparkle.

More announcements to come!
