"Knot" Just Another Blanket
We will be delivering blankets to the Community Health & Rehabilitation Center, after work, tomorrow (Tuesday, Jan. 21).

5:30pm - The Delivery Team will meet at Starbucks at the PC Mall. A very short meeting about the Organization, info on the Seniors we will be delivering to. We will tie and card the blankets. Pick the blanket and person you want to deliver to.

6:05pm - head to the Senior Center above. Address: 3611 Transmitter. It's at the light at Hwy 231 and Transmitter.

6:15pm - we distribute and have a brief visitation with these folks.
6:45pm - grab your Feedback Sheet we are done! Take it with you to complete and get back to me the following day.

We have a lady on the list that is 102! She turns 103 in March!! This will be awesome!! THANK YOU to this week's Delivery Team!

Here we go... four more blankets for the cause! I've been making them during lunch! I only have 1 more of these patterns and need to pick up more supplies! Here's to expanding in Panama City and the surrounding areas!

In less than 24 hours, we have doubled our group here! I'm so amazed at what we've done in the years past, with who and what we've had! I'm so excited to see where it goes from here with the new folks! This is awesome!!!

I want to give a big shout out to Gloria Walker and Gina Finlayson Cook for diving in to help with the "Knot Just Another Blanket" group! Gina is going to town making blankets with fleece left over from last year to start and getting her mother involved! And Gloria just picked up the phone and said, "I've read the entire FB page and I have to be involved in this!" I have a meeting with Gloria to discuss the process and upcoming projects. I love you guys for this!!! THANK YOU for all that you do!!!

These are the Knotted Ends Fleece Blankets. No sewing needed! Just my speed! My daughter will tell you that I was the Queen of the Glue Gun for all Halloween Costumes! I can't sew! Lol! These are the printed TAGS tied to every blanket made and distributed! Read the special message below!

During 2010 and 2011, we learned so much about the needs for something like this. One of which came when my daughter made a delivery for me and called me as son as she left the shelter! She was crying and trying to explain what she had just heard, as it was so unimaginable and heart breaking! I researched and presented again to the Elves & More's Core Team and with a plea to friends and family for assistance, we were able to move forward on a commitment to do our part to help! See below:

Minimum of 17 blankets per month to be donated for the Herman Memorial Hospital, as this is the average number of children brought in per month from sexual abuse cases alone (to just this one hospital!). Their clothing is taken from them for evidence and they are in need of items to transition into a shelter. A "Knot Just Another Blanket" is given to them AT THE HOSPITAL upon picking them up to transport. This is their own blanket to wrap up in and keep. Their own little piece of security during an unimaginable time of mental and physical pain.

How did this start you ask?

Answer: Founded by Tonya Estes and Rebecca Roberts

In December of 2009, while traveling for work, Tonya called Rebecca and told her about a dream she had the night before... There were tables and tables of fleece, and people everywhere, making blankets... we were in a warehouse and there were bright colors, scissors, people packing, and working... We were making blankets for people that didn't have anything to call their own - for warmth and security. She told Rebecca, "We really need to do something together. What do you make of this dream?" Rebecca said, "We should really consider making that happen!" Minutes later Tonya called Rebecca with an idea for the name. They thought about it all year. The idea hounded Tonya for a couple weeks in November 2010 and it was decided that they would move forward. Rebecca laid the ideas out on how to get started right away... and so they did! Tonya pitched the idea to the Elves & More Core Team for an activity during their luncheon one day. With great excitement, they jumped on board and gave ideas for sources and for recipients. Our first goal of 100 blankets by the end of 2010 was met! It's been an incredible success since!

The time has come to start gearing up! Let your friends know about the page! The more that help in any way they are able to, the more children and elderly we are able to help! Let's hear it for Mitzi Byars Bolling!! Thank you for taking an interest and spreading the word to your friends and family!

Mitzi is making blankets this weekend with friends and she is also planning a Blanket Party!

One person on one weekend, taking a little of their time, helps how many children? We'll see how many blankets these ladies make. Thank you again Mitzi!!!!
