The Gibson Hummingbird is legendary for its versatility; it is equally at home strumming first-position chords and delivering soaring lead lines. Now the legendary Hummingbird Standard is available in a new version with rosewood back and sides that has all of the playing and sonic characteristics you’d expect from the world-renowned square-shouldered acoustic but with slightly fuller bass response and overtone complexity due to the rosewood body.

Check out this guitar and more contemporary interpretations of classic models feature popular updates such as slimmer necks, new woods, friendlier fingerboards, and cutaways in Gibson Modern Acoustic Collection. Visit us today at Leitz Music Company, Inc.!

There’s just something about the unique character of the wraparound tailpiece on a Gibson 1954 Les Paul Goldtop. Some say its direct connection to the body stud screws maximizes sustain—others believe it creates a distinct tonality and vocal-like quality.

Whatever the case, there’s no denying the magic of this 1954 Les Paul Reissue Heavy Aged in Double Gold.

In early 1965, the original Gibson Firebird design transitioned through several different iterations. One of the significant transitions that occurred flipped the headstock to the “Non-Reverse” shape. Unlike the original Reverse Firebird headstock design, which featured a two-layered headstock with a holly veneer, the new headstock was flat, like the bill of a platypus.

The Firebird is one of the most distinctive-looking guitar designs ever, and the Firebird Platypus takes this legendary guitar a step further.
