The Art of Tray Design Process: From Sugar Cane to Custom Tray!

PPG can custom design trays for a unique look while increasing functionality, thoughtfully shaping each tray to meet the specific needs of our customers’ applications. We call this the “Art of Tray Design Process”, where creativity meets precision and purpose.

Here’s a look at how we form our sugar cane trays:
1️⃣ Compostable Sheet Made from Sugar Cane
We start with a renewable, compostable sugar cane-based material.
2️⃣ Wet Mold Forming
The sheet is formed over a wet mold to create the desired tray shape.
3️⃣ Dry Forming
The tray goes through the dry forming process to set and strengthen its final shape.
4️⃣ Awaiting Trimming
Once formed, the trays are prepared for precise trimming and finishing.
5️⃣ Platform Branding
The finished tray combines functionality, sustainability, and a unique custom design.
