The inaugural journey (if…a very short drive) of the F&Co. Bookmobile. She’s not quite all there yet, but the Olds is just about ready to start getting cleaned up nice after a few more repairs.

Paris, Texas and Northeast Texas people: having a popup this week while I handle the estate sale for my mom’s estate. And y’all are invited!

Get a combo of all you see on here and some sweet deals on vintage stuff. My mom loved her some antiques.

Drop me a line for details, or just swing by 9-7, through Sunday, at 4527 SE Loop 286, in Paris.

And as always for y’all locals. I’m always available by appointment. When I’m not running popups, I have a closed shop. Drop me a line to make an appointment for your book shopping or book repair needs.

One of the first old books I ever sold, and I’ve got one back again. French luminary of satire Anatole France’s “At the Sign of the Reine Pedaque.” France (the author) is considered the French equivalent of Jon Swift and Mark Twain, as satirists go. Here, he pokes his pen toward a variety of sacred cows, from the Church to his day’s spiritualist scammers selling the idea of spiritual alchemy.

Available now in the shop. As always, hit the link in bio to check this out and other lovelies for your shelves.

Can we talk about how this is one of the best movies of all time? I mean, you’ve got the very first animation appearance by Robin Williams. Aladdin almost didn’t happen with Williams because of this movie — Jeff Katzenberg didn’t want Williams doing back-to-back animated features, and he’d signed on to voice Batty before the Genie. The Mouse, in their infinite pettiness, repeatedly interfered with production of FernGully, according to producer Wayne Young. They tried to overbid on production spaces, and when the FernGully team had enough and attempted to move to a local former brewery - Disney tried to buy the building. Katzenberg never did respond to reporters asking for a comment on that.
The film also features other legends — Tim Curry voicing (and singing) as a toxic cloud and the first time in six years everyone’s favorite hotboxed duo worked together — Cheech & Chong, voicing Stump and Root.

Miss the classic way to see it, on VHS? You can pick it up from me. Hit the link in bio to check out all your faves - books and movies, from my bookshelves to yours. 🖤
