A new local business coming to Paris!! Super excited!!🧁🍰🍩
Big news: Henhouse Bakery & Books is moving to Paris, Illinois! 🐔🤍
Long post ahead-
We’ve been hearing the rumors after our announcement yesterday that we are shutting down business. We are NOT closing for good, we’re beginning an exciting new chapter.
After a lot of talking and planning behind the scenes, we’ve officially secured our new location. We’re not ready to reveal the address or opening date just yet, but more details are coming soon! 👀
We also want our Marshall family to know something important:
** We aren’t leaving Marshall behind!**
We’ve gotten so many messages and texts, and we know a lot of you are genuinely upset that we’re leaving. Please know that this was not an easy decision at all. I (Hanna) always pictured Marshall as the home of The Cackle Shack, and then Henhouse. This community has been such a huge part of our story, and leaving is bittersweet in so many ways. But sometimes, opportunities come along that you truly cannot pass up, especially when you know that opportunity is going to create something better for your family and allow you to grow in ways you simply couldn’t before. And while we may be moving our bakery, we’re not giving up our connection to Marshall. 🤍
I’ve always wanted to bring The Cackle Shack Farm Stand back to Marshall/Dennison in a bigger way. Until now, I simply haven’t had the staff, time, or capacity to make it happen while running the bakery.
Our move to Paris will finally make that possible.** The Cackle Shack Farm Stand will reopen as a pickup location for our Marshall customers**, with plans to bring back the full farm stand in the spring! 🌱🐓 We’re also exploring additional ways to stay connected to Marshall. Heather is looking into creating a porch pickup box at her home, where customers can pick up Henhouse items made in Paris on designated days. And of course, The Silo will continue carrying our cheesecakes, so you can still get your Henhouse cheesecake fix right here in Marshall. 🍰🤍
Our Marshall bakery doors will close on September 12th, but this is not goodbye.
To our Marshall family: thank you. Thank you for giving The Cackle Shack a place to start, for watching Henhouse grow, for supporting us through the hard days, and for celebrating the good ones with us.
Marshall will always be where Henhouse began. 🤍
And to our current and future Paris family, we genuinely cannot wait to begin this fresh chapter. We are SO appreciative of all the support we’ve already received from fellow small businesses in Paris and members of the community. You have made us feel so welcomed before we’ve even opened our doors, and we cannot wait to become part of your community.
