TOOL TIP TUESDAY: WHAT FUEL SHOULD YOU USE IN YOUR MOWER?

Whenever possible, go with ethanol-free gas!

Ethanol can attract moisture and contribute to buildup and corrosion in small-engine fuel systems. Using ethanol-free fuel can help:
• Reduce gum and varnish buildup
• Keep your carburetor cleaner
• Prevent moisture-related corrosion
• Keep stored fuel fresh longer
• Protect your mower’s fuel system

Can you use regular gas?

Yes! Fresh 87-octane gasoline containing no more than 10% ethanol (E10) is generally acceptable for many mowers. If your mower will be sitting for an extended period, consider adding a fuel stabilizer and always follow your manufacturer’s recommendations.

Avoid E15 and E85 in equipment that isn’t approved for higher ethanol blends.

A little attention at the pump can go a long way toward keeping your mower running strong!
