One year ago today, Wichita decided to celebrate closing day with one of the craziest rainstorms anyone could remember. While the streets were flooding outside, Pat and Wendy were sitting at a conference table with Jerry and Lisa, signing the papers that officially transitioned Store In A Wink to its next generation of ownership. To say they didn't know exactly what the next year would bring would be an understatement.
Over the last 12 months, Pat and Wendy weathered more than just that storm. Store In A Wink worked through a hail storm and roof repair claim, navigated insurance renewals after a claim, completed a climate-controlled expansion that added 56 new units to the facility, made the strategic decision to exit U-Haul, and continued serving customers as publicly traded companies and private equity groups entered the local market. None of it has been easy, but one year later, they're still here-and stronger because of it.
Thank you to every customer, friend, family member, and supporter who has been part of this first year. Whether you've rented a unit, referred a friend, left a review, or simply cheered from the sidelines, you've helped make this milestone possible.
