Who says quilting is a dying art? Hogwash! These new young quilters would disagree with that misinformation!

They just completed an end of summer “Kids Camp” here at Bolts & Quarters Quilt Shop, LLC, with Instructor, Ginny Guthrie! She did a great job helping these new quilters get alot done this past week!

Great job, students! What an awesome accomplishment before returning to school!!

We are slowly getting the fabric shelves restocked. It’s been a challenge to directly see the impact that tariffs and inflation has had on our gross sales this year. But we will make it through it all with your continued support and loyalty. And patience.

This week we finally received our first shipments of fabrics we ordered at the H&H Americas Trade Show in Chicago. In the pics, you’ll see we received quite a few white on white bolts. And I’m really excited about our brand new 20 bolts of“Garden Whispers” Collection of 108” Wide Backings!! These are absolutely beautiful!!

*Congrats to all the volunteers and exhibitors for bringing World Embroidery Day to our local community! As far as I know, no other event like this is offered in the entire tri-state area. So Bolts & Quarters is honoured to offer this very unique and special event for our customers. As you can see, everyone enjoyed the special presentation by Guest Speaker, Karen Phillips-Swollon, a renowned hand embroiderer.

*Join us here at Bolts & Quarters Quilt Shop, LLC on Thurs 7/30, as we celebrate World Embroidery Day 2026! Our special event will be held from 10am - 4pm. Free gift to the first 100 visitors, door prizes, refreshments, and a special guest speaker at 11am, Karen Phillips-Swollon. Hand-crafted exhibits welcome! See attached flyer. Established in Sweden in 2011, this annual global event encourages stitchers worldwide to gather, showcase their work, and promote peace, freedom, and equality through the craft.

*Don Reynolds from Reynolds Sharpening in Summersville, WV will be at the shop all day tomorrow sharpening your scissors! Bring them in and he will get them sharpened for you while you wait! Or you can drop them off and come back to pick them up later.

*We just got a brand new 20 bolt and 1 panel collection in! This is the "Dragonfly Wonder" Collection by Ann Lauer and Benertex! Absolutely beautiful! Stop in and get some while supplies last!

Looking for a way to get out of the heat this summer? Register for a class here at Bolts & Quarters Quilt Shop, LLC and stay cool in one of 3 of our classrooms! With us offering over 250 classes a year, there's always something available for everyone to 'Get Your Stitch On!'™

For example, at 38,000 feet, I designed this brand new 12 1/2" "Brunch Bunch Blocks" pattern called "Lava Star"! There's a few spots left for this Saturday morning class! Sign up before it fills up again! And also enjoy a complimentary Brunch served by our very own Chef Warren! Then after that, I'm offering a 1/2 Day "Brian's Open Studio". Let me help you get those UFOs successfully completed and ready to be quilted! With support, fewer distractions than at home, and lots of 'sewcializin', too, for a fun, productive afternoon.

Next Thursday, I'm starting another series of my "Disappearing 9 Patch" Class; my 2nd most popular class of all!

On Saturday, Aug 1, we'll have 3 classes going at the same time. My newest Guest Instructor and former FBI Agent, Shelia Teague will be teaching an introductory level type of foundation paper piecing pattern called "Woven Ribbon Star". Shelia is working towards becoming a Certified Judy Niemeyer Instructor at Quiltworx. Space is limited. And this is the first time that I'm aware of that a Judy Niemeyer Instructor has taught in the Mid-Ohio Valley in the past 12+ years. Also on Saturday morning, I'll be teaching my "Beginner Free Motion Quilting" Class again. Learn how to quilt your own projects on your domestic machine. Followed by my "Binding 101" Class.

The week of Aug 10-13, Ginny Guthrie will be offering our last Summer Kids Camp, just in time before school starts. The kids will be learning how to make a quilt!
