This is the difference a little time and a lot of wingbeats makes.
First frame: fresh nectar straight from the field - thin, watery, not quite honey yet. Second frame: capped honey, cured and sealed under a thin layer of wax. The wax capping is how we know it’s ready - the bees fanning their wings has brought the moisture level down to where it needs to be. There’s no rushing it, or the bees.
This is the last bit of our late summer harvest, next step extraction.
