Good morning, friends. I wanted to start the week with some Cycle City updates. There's a lot going on around the shop.
A lot has changed since opening the shop in 2004. From disc brakes to tubeless tires, and COVID to direct to consumer. We’ve been through it all. The one thing that hasn't changed in those 22 years, is my love and passion for the bicycle and this wonderful community I've get to be a part of. I really love what I do. All of us here do.
As overhead and price increases and tariffs make owning a small business in 2026 a challenge, we were hit with a 25% increase in rent at the start of this year. What that means is there's a lot of construction going on and things are a bit noisy around here at times.
We are thrilled to announce that we have reached an agreement with our landlord to stay in our current location, but we'll be reducing our square footage. We plan to do exactly what we've been doing all these years and give the very best customer and bike service in town. I'm really excited for the new layout!
Bike Brands - our brands will remain the same. Our relationships with Salsa, Specialized, Cannondale, Cervelo and Santa Cruz are as good as ever.
Additionally, custom builds continue to play a huge roll in what I do here in my day to day at Cycle City. We proudly build some of the very best custom bikes from Chumba, Enve, Allied, and Moots. If you're looking for your next dream build, we are definitely your shop!
I've been at this a long time and plan to keep doing so as long as I'm able. I love this beautiful machine. This sport. My community.
And I love and appreciate all of you. Thank you for supporting your local bike shop. And thank you for your continued patience over the next few weeks as we adventure together one pedal at a time. See you all tomorrow!
