Good morning! This past week was super busy at The Potted Porch! We made fabulous fall wreaths, lots of beautiful bouquets went out to Albertsons and subscriptions, then flower arrangements in vintage vases Saturday morning, our barn was rented out for a business dinner and flower picking, and many families came for their fall mini sessions!
Our farm was busy cutting pumpkins and loading 70 crates in a semi for a Utah farmer's market, many more were cut and picked up by hand for local businesses, we cut and bundled corn stalks, broom corn, sorghum and purple majesty millet. We are still picking sweet corn for Grasmicks and it sure is delicious! The garden is still providing although not as well as I'd like, but I still snapped green beans, dried green onions and harvested honey dew melon and watermelon all organically raised which makes my heart feel good. The raspberries and strawberries just won't give up and I'm so thankful to have berries in the freezer!
The flower farm is still doing well, the dahlias are gorgeous, the tractor planted Benary Giant Zinnias have been excellent, the cooler weather has given me a new flush of many perennials, the Soraya sunflowers have been out of this world-I don't understand how each stalk can give 10 perfectly straight usable stems with the cutest cheery heads!
This coming week we are transitioning toward pumpkin sales for the early birds this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8am to noon during u-pick hours. The package is $150 and includes 10 large, 5 medium and 5 small pumpkins with 2 corn stalk bundles. These pumpkins will be in crates still so not as many options as if they were on display. We are also loading up for pumpkin porch deliveries starting at the end of this week. Sign up is under September events on my website for porch delivery.
