Did You Know?! 🌳✨ The Backyard Has Some History!?
The Backyard property was originally home to “Campbell’s Tavern” & last year we discovered the original foundation of the structure on the property! 🤯
This year, we’re giving that space a new life by using it for some fun family activities, including pumpkin basketball, pumpkin bowling, Gaga Ball pit & mini golf during the Farm Market season. 🏀 ⛳️ Spring-Summer next year, we’ll be looking into a full size pickleball court for the space. Campbell’s was known for selling steamed crabs, crab cakes, & Baltimore Colts memorabilia. The space offered a family-friendly atmosphere by having a garden, pool hall, juke box, pavilion etc; many of the same things we continue to cherish & honor here at The Backyard today. 🎃🌲💐

The owner, Bob Campbell, actually had ponies on the property! 🐴 How cool is that?!
And just when we thought we had uncovered all the history, we discovered even more while replenishing some of our parking area. We came across Campbell’s old parking lot including a bunch of old stone & even a rope that we believe may have been part of the original parking area. When we spoke to the previous owner “Snowball Dave Rosage,” he told us it was where he was able to do his famous haunted trail from 2002-2019 I’m sure some of you remember! When you arrive, you’ll be able to see the same 75+ year old rope fashioned between two trees in the additional parking area.
Every time we work on the property, it seems like we uncover another little piece of its story. Thanks to Bob Cambell & Dave Rosage, we only needed a little underbrushing/stone replenishment and BOOM we were able to create this MUCH NEEDED extra parking space!
Over the past 4 years, The Backyard has grown so much — and that’s all because of YOU. ❤️
