It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Panda, Co-Founder of Bowhaus, industry pioneer, and arguably the most powerful 12-pound executive in the San Gabriel Valley.
Panda came from humble beginnings in a rescue shelter before joining our family in 2012 with no money, no connections, no formal education, and absolutely no experience in the pet care industry.
Naturally, he went on to co-found one of the leading dog care facilities in the San Gabriel Valley.
His management style was unconventional. He rarely attended meetings, refused to answer emails, took multiple naps during business hours, and maintained an executive compensation package consisting largely of premium food, chauffeured transportation, and unrestricted access to furniture.
His approach to customer relations also resulted in several incidents that, had HR existed at the time, almost certainly would have required formal documentation โ particularly his habit of enthusiastically hu***ng select guests.
Fortunately, as Co-Founder, he was essentially untouchable.
For more than a decade, Panda remained at the heart of Bowhaus, helping build a business that cared for thousands of dogs and families while watching our own family grow around him.
He passed peacefully on a warm autumn evening in Pasadena, California, surrounded by the people who loved him most.
He leaves behind his mom and dad, his two human brothers, his golden sister, the Bowhaus family, and a company he helped build from the ground up.
His succession plan remains unclear.
His office will not be filled.
And HR can finally close the file.
From rescue shelter to corporate titan.
Not bad for a guy who never worked a full eight-hour day in his life.
Rest easy, Mr. Chairman.
