In honor the 25th anniversary of 9/11, allow me to suggest a book every family should have on their shelf.
The Man in the Red Bandanna by Honor Crowther Fagan is the story of her brother, a volunteer firefighter who worked in tower 1 and ran towards danger to save people around him, and ultimate sacrificed his life.
Our children weren’t there when 9/11 happened. It’s part of our country’s history to them. But it’s important to teach them and talk with them about it.
Talk to them about what happened. Teach them about the heroes, the men and women who ran in, first responders or not. Talk to them about the 2,997 people who died, and why we say never forget. Talk to them about how on September 12, our country came together, putting difference aside and stood strong with each other. Never forget
