I'm sending the Heartbreaker guitar home to Pastor Tyler's. This was a 1 week, back to worship, ministry service repair. The guitar was dead, now it's alive. I don't think it will win any Beaty contest, but it will play worship songs and bless our creator! Thank you Lord for these hands and the ability to glorify you. Father if you can make my left pinky finger work again, will use it for worshipping you as before!

In the morning I'll try to put some clear on the heartbreaker guitar. Glue is set up and cured. I sanded scars through 400 grit and put some purple dye on it. Hopefully Pastor Tyler can play this in worship Sunday!

I have humble Pastor Tyler's Heartbreaker guitar in for repair today. God would never break our hearts though! He created someones' hands to restore hope and faith in this guitar and Him. His Son has scars that reveal Love. I pray when anyone sees the scars on this guitar neck, they get reminded how God restores each of us when we trust and believe in the work of His Son's scars! My scars are a wonderful gift from God to me! He restored me to Himself in December 2002, life has been miraculous ever since!

Test fit with stainless steel flatwounds -G 045", D .055, A .065, E .075, all assembled and playable. Now take it apart, fill holes and add clean laminate on headstock, finish, need to make bone saddle, install side dots.

Try different strings, Taylor mini bass had strings developed for it, w/ super low tension i will try. Will make a new nut and try those. Clean and finish the wood.

The cold weather brings me inside during our Merry Christmas season. This allows me to prioritize my fretless projects. This short scale (28" ish) acoustic fretless bass guitar challenge really peaked my interest! So I glued the katalox fingerboard on and started smoothing and sanding the neck in preparation for attaching to the body. Will be filling peg holes and drilling for (4) new Hipshot lightweight tuners. Am still contemplating bridge type and placement. It's hard to get volume from an acoustic bass guitar, so we will see how this thing sounds.had already removed the fretboard last spring. The pics are from this week 12/10/24

For Sale $600 plus shipping. We just finished this up and played it and sou ds and feels wonderful. This is a Carvin DIY kit bass from 1990s I believe, just refinished and set up to my liking! Refinished because it had some kind of mechanic dirt embedded into grain in the body and neck that would not come out. Left sides, sanded down front and back of body and neck, 16" radius'd the ebony fingerboard, cut and polished new bone nut, fitted with Fender SS Flatwounds .055 - .105.

Hello Everyone - 2023_1206
Have been in the shop working on another fretless 6 string electric T style guitar! We ordered this body to be Alder! Surprisingly, it's alot lighter than Ash and Maple, I expected it to be more like Maple? Anyways, we have a different approach to finishing this one, decided to fill the grain to a super smooth finish which we have not done before, instructions suggested sealing the wood before dying, before filling, before clearcoat. What you see is the sealer applied.
We were going to dye a color but the grain with the sealer is beautifully dark so am thinking now to leave the dye off. The front had to have additional sanding because the sealer revealed some planer scratches, we remanded and revealed the front and applied 2nd sealer coat to the back and edges. The flame maple neck we adjusted the nut slot and assembled it on to the guitar, installed a string and marked the intonation points for the side dots and installed side dot markers. The fingerboard will have a 12" radius so that work is up and coming.
