Thank god for bad contractors — because somebody's gotta go back and fix it right!

Rolled into a job in Woodstock, New York where a previous contractor thought it was a good idea to drop a big heavy rock right back down on top of the pipe. Crushed, cracked, and just waiting to fail. That's not a repair — that's a problem with a delay on it.

We dug it out, removed that rock, and replaced the damaged line with heavy duty SDR35 pipe. Proper bedding, proper backfill, proper slope — the way it should've been done the first time. SDR35 is built to take the load and hold up underground for the long haul, so this homeowner isn't calling anybody back out here in two years.

We're not the cheapest bid and we're not trying to be. We're the ones who show up, do it right, and stand behind the work. That's the difference.

Here's the difference between doing it right and doing it cheap — and why it matters for anyone buying a home with a septic system.

Going with the cheapest company might save you a few bucks up front, but more times than not you're calling somebody else out to fix it down the road. That's not a savings — that's a delay on a bigger bill.

Take a look at these two pictures.

The first one is our work. On this routine baffle install and outlet line replacement, we set the baffle onto a full 10-foot piece of SDR35 whenever possible so it's securely attached to the outlet line. That means no headaches, no surprises, no future problems for the new homeowners.

The second picture is what the seller got from a different company before the sale — the cheaper route. The baffle was glued onto a 6-inch stub of SDR35 and just pushed through the tank. Not connected to the outlet line. Not even touching it. No coupling. Slapped a baffle on a scrap of pipe and called it done.

That's the sad truth of going cheap. We take pride in doing it the right way the first time, because it's your system — and your money — on the line.

Out with the old, in with the built-to-last! We just pulled an old leaking concrete block tank out of the ground and dropped in a brand new 1500 gallon Roth MultiTank.

Concrete block tanks were never made to go the distance — over the years the joints break down, the walls leak, and groundwater finds its way in (or worse, sewage finds its way out). When a homeowner's system is failing, we don't patch a problem we know is going to come back. We fix it right.
