Q: What kind of wax do you use?
A: The EP lotion candle is made with 100% cosmetic-grade soy wax that melts into lotion, leaving your skin feeling silky and smooth. As opposed to paraffin, a byproduct of petroleum, soybeans are a renewable and eco-friendly option! We at Elizabeth Paige are proud to source our soy from US farms.
Q: Does the EP lotion candle produce smoke?
A: Our lotion candles are almost entirely smoke free, due to the clean-burning nature of soy oil and the pure cotton wick. Your air filters will thank you! Please note that small amounts of smoke are not abnormal, just rare.
Q: What makes the EP lotion candle different from other soy candles?
A: At Elizabeth Paige, we use skin safe fragrances and cosmetic-grade soy wax, unlike your typical candle. We use skin-safe quantities of fragrance in each candle, but the scent is still potent enough to fill your space! Our candles have been approved by the International Fragrance Association for use on skin so you can dip in worry-free.
Q: Do you use essential oils in the lotion candle?
A: Essential oils are not stable enough to withstand the heat of a melting candle, so we opt for a blend of fragrances instead.
Q: What do you mean when you say your candles are "better for you and the environment?"
A: As we answered just above, soy oil is a renewable product that can be farmed sustainably in the United States. Our candles are free of toxins, preservatives, additives, dyes, fillers, and paraffin (a petroleum byproduct!). Combined with the smoke-free burn, your lungs will remain free of harmful toxins. Finally, our candles moisturize your skin with fragrance that is skin-safe and long-lasting!
