I recently had the privilege of making this sweet necklace for a true beauty who just turned 13. Iโve watched this girl grow from an adventurous 4 year old to a confident and strong (still adventurous) young woman (thatโs weird to say!)
And, honestly, I admire this girl because she knows where her strength comes from and she is unashamed. I look at her and think โif only had that gumption and peace when I was her age!โ She doesnโt back down when it comes to what is true and what is not and it encourages me to do the same. And I want her to remember that stance. So I made her this necklace to remind her of this influence, but also as a reminder to myself and to those that surround her. It comes from the scripture John 16:33-
โ[Jesus says] Take heart (or courage), for I have overcome the world!โ
What courage that does give.
I was also reminded from one of my favorite bits from The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader when things get scary on the seas and Lucy feels overwhelmed and she hears a quiet but familiar voice say to hear โTake courage, dear heartโ and she knows it is Aslan.
So I share this today really just as a reminder for myself, but maybe for you too, that no matter the storms you are in to TAKE HEART (aka: trust in Jesus) because he has overcome and our strength is in Him.
So happy Sunday to you.
And thank you, Jesus.
