I wanted to give everyone an update since so many of you have been checking in on us.

Unfortunately, we’re still waiting on approval for our HVAC repair. While the issue has been diagnosed, the repair has not yet been approved, so we’ll remain closed through the weekend.

I know this is disappointing, and believe me, it’s disappointing for us too. We’re anxious to reopen and welcome everyone back as soon as the repair is approved and the store is comfortable for our customers and vendors.

Thank you so much for your patience, encouragement, and understanding over the past week. I’ll post another update as soon as I have confirmed news to share.

We’re still waiting on approval for the HVAC repair and unfortunately don’t have a reopening date to share just yet.

We know this is frustrating, and it’s frustrating for us too. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we work with property management and the HVAC company to get this resolved as quickly as possible.

As soon as we have confirmation that the repair is complete and the store is comfortable for customers and vendors, we’ll announce our reopening immediately.

Due to an unexpected A/C failure, Rooted in Mississippi will be closed today while we work with our property management team to resolve the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We’ll post an update as soon as we’re able to reopen.❤️

New handcrafted door leaners have arrived, featuring beautiful Southern florals that make a warm welcome for your porch, entryway, or even inside your home.

She also brought in these adorable Dreamy Dragonfly Art Kits! Each kit includes everything (except paint) you need to create your own colorful dragonfly masterpiece. Paint it in your favorite colors, then display it on a wall, hang it on your front door, or add it to a gallery wall. Every finished piece will be completely your own.

One of the things I love about Kelly’s creations is that they encourage creativity. Whether you want something finished and ready to display or you’d rather spend an afternoon making something yourself, there’s a little inspiration waiting for you.

One of the things we love most about Feathered Acres LLC is that everything follows the seasons. Alicia handcrafts her small-batch products using ingredients inspired by what’s growing and flourishing right now. Once they’re gone, they’re gone until next season.

This summer, she’s brought us several delicious new additions:

Citrus Jasmine Green Tea – A bright, refreshing blend of sencha, lemongrass, jasmine buds, pineapple, and satsuma. Perfect for slow mornings or poured over ice on a hot Mississippi afternoon.

Orchard Hearth Black Tea – A comforting peach-spiced black tea that’s made for quiet evenings, front porch conversations, and a little moment of peace.

Blueberry Harvest Butter – Rich, fruity, and absolutely delicious on biscuits, toast, pancakes, waffles, or even stirred into yogurt.

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me why I opened Rooted in Mississippi. ❤️

I had a family emergency come up unexpectedly and had to leave the store shortly after opening. Thankfully, Christen stepped in so we could stay open while I checked on my husband.

While I was away, something really exciting happened. Ashley with Art By A. Harper sold her original charcoal artwork that she completed in 2017! Seeing our vendors succeed is one of the best parts of what we do. When I opened this store, one of my biggest hopes was to create a place where local artists and makers could be discovered. Watching an original piece find its new home is such a rewarding feeling.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported local makers, and to Christen for saving the day. I truly appreciate this community. 🫶🏾

Sometimes the best vendors find us because of you. ❤️

A few months ago, one of our customers stopped by the store, and I mentioned that I was looking for more Mississippi-made, shelf-stable food products.

About a week later, she came back with Tiffany from Ms. T’s Sweets and Treats in mind. She had tried Tiffany’s products at a local farmers market and told me, “You need to reach out to her.”

So I did.

Tiffany was busy preparing for Pickle Fest, but she promised she’d stop by once things settled down… and she kept her word.

We’re excited to welcome Ms. T’s Sweets & Treats to Rooted in Mississippi! Right now you’ll find:

And this is just the beginning. Tiffany will be bringing even more homemade goodies to the store in the future.

One of my favorite parts of owning Rooted in Mississippi is watching this community connect local makers with local shoppers. Every recommendation, every conversation, and every introduction helps another small business grow.

J. Steven Designs has dropped off another beautiful collection of handcrafted jewelry, and if history tells us anything…these pieces won’t be here for long.

We’ve already had customers come in looking for earrings they spotted on Facebook, only to find they’d already found a new home.
