Need something fun for the kids to do over Fall Break?

Ashley with Art By A. Harper is bringing Fall Break Art Camp to Rooted in Mississippi October 6–8!

Instead of three mornings of “I’m bored” 😂, let them come work those creative muscles with clay sculptures, pumpkin painting, oil pastels and more.

Camp is open to ages 5–18, and you can sign up for all three days or choose individual classes.

And parents, you’ve got options too! Drop them off and enjoy a couple of kid-free hours, OR stick around, grab an espresso, relax, and do a little local shopping while they create. The holidays are sneaking up on us, so you might even get a little Christmas shopping done while they’re busy.

$35 per class or $100 for all three

Calling all Mississippi foodies!

We have another book signing coming to Rooted in Mississippi, and this one is going to be such a fun one!

On Saturday, October 24 from 10 AM–12 PM, authors Dori Lowe and Brandi Perry will be joining us with their new book, Unique Eats and Eateries of Mississippi: The People and Stories Behind the Food.

This isn’t just a book about where to eat. It takes you along Mississippi highways and backroads to explore the restaurants, dishes, people and stories that make our state’s food culture so special.

If you’re the person who loves finding a restaurant you’ve never tried, planning a weekend road trip around where you’re going to eat, or telling everybody, “You HAVE to try this little place I found,” then this one is for you.

Come meet the authors, grab a copy and have it signed, and maybe leave with a whole new Mississippi food bucket list.

And yes, this would make a GREAT gift for the Mississippi foodie in your life too. ❤️

I told y’all Suzanne was going to come up with something good to replace that curio that sold…

Well, it’s here. 🤍

And this time, Suzanne with Flip You Designs broke one of her own rules. 😂 She normally doesn’t do white furniture, but when she found this gorgeous fabric, she couldn’t resist pairing the two.

This tall corner curio has been completely transformed with a crisp white finish, the original-style antique gold details, glass shelving, and that beautiful blue-gray floral fabric lining the inside.

The photos do NOT do that fabric justice. It’s actually embroidered, so there is so much texture and detail that you really have to see in person. 😍

One of my favorite things about Suzanne’s pieces is that she doesn’t just refinish furniture. She gives old pieces an entirely different personality, and this one feels like it was made for a very particular home.

The last curio eventually found exactly the person who was looking for it. I have a feeling this one will too. 🤍

It may not feel like Fall outside yet, but it’s definitely starting to look like Fall inside Rooted!

Alicia with Feathered Acres LLC has been busy bringing in new seasonal goodies, including some Fall favorites and a few things we haven’t had in the store before.

And there’s more coming! She’ll also be adding new herbal teas for Fall, which we’re especially excited about. Pair them with a little locally made Mississippi honey (which you can buy here), or try Alicia’s suggestion and sweeten your tea with some of her Rose Petal Jelly. We still have a few jars left!
