Co-Op Records Pekin, Illinois location opened for business in mid-May of 1998, and has been going strong since, weathering the changing face of the music industry by diversifying its inventory and catering to the specialized needs of its clientele through special ordering, deep catalog, a vast inventory of used CDs, DVDs, & LPs, and competitive pricing. More than just a "record store", Co-Op is a lifestyle shop, featuring a huge selection of items specifically tailored to this community, as well as music fans in general, including frisbee golf discs, incense, smoking accessories, posters, tapestries, hats & t-shirts, guitar strings, comics, action figures & toys, turntables, books, stickers, buttons, and more. We have a massive inventory of used CDs & LPs, including several out-of-print titles, so please contact us with any hard-to-find title requests, and we'll dig into our stock to search for them. OK, here we go…while we’re still open through tomorrow night(Tuesday), until 7PM, we HAVE started to disassemble parts of the store, so anyone wanting to purchase fixtures can get them before it’s all loaded up and gone on Wednesday. We still have a pair of 4’ X 6.5’ display cases for sale ($300 or BO each), as well as a pair of 6’ wide tall white glass cases ($450 or BO each), 4 glass counter display cases at $250-300 each. (2) Poster racks at $250 each, and tons of gridwall & shelving($20 each for the 4X6 panels, most shelves $5 each. Hooks $ each)Oh yeah, and we have various styles of T-shirt racks that can go, so make us an offer. BUT, you’ve only got 48 hrs. , so please hit us up ASAP.

Since a couple of letters have been on the fritz lately, we did briefly reconsider our impending closure, with an eye on re-branding instead, as Co-Op Cords, specializing in all your power supply needs...extensions, power strips, tri-taps, etc.

After much deliberation, we've opted to go ahead with our initial plan, and thus we are now staring down the barrel of Tuesday being the end of our run. SO, if you haven't taken advantage of the discounted merchandise, you've got a few more days left to do so. Anyone interested in purchasing fixtures (poster racks, t-shirt racks, glass cases, gridwall, shelving, etc.), you're gonna need to arrange that soon, because it'll all be out of the building by this time next week. Stop in and talk to Brandon, or message us, regarding prices and possible pickup times. Several things have already been claimed and paid for, but we have plenty left to unload yet.

I'll be in the store Monday & Tuesday, starting the process of breaking it all down, boxing things up, and getting it ready for the truck, before turning off that Open sign one last time.

It's been real, Pekin (& beyond). We're gonna miss ya.

This is it, folks....13 days to go, and we'll have to say goodbye. In the meantime, we've got stuff marked down that we'd love to unload, so swing by and grab a little something before we vamoose. Also, we've got fixtures to re-home - CD/Vinyl Racks, Poster Display Racks, Glass Cases, Shelving, etc., so anyone needing a way to display their goods, either at your personal residence or place of business, hit us up about those, because they're for sale too.

Come & get it, before it's too late.
