Buttons. K***s. Machines that go brrr. Screen-printing tables. Pantone ink.
One little house-shaped troublemaker + an empty shop = total mayhem. Footprints in magenta, a smiley face on a blank tee, and somehow yellow tracked all the way to the front door.
Big love and even bigger thank-you to our partners at CI Sport for letting Shedo (and Rebel Shed) play in their beautiful shop. Y’all are the real ones.

My human said we were running one errand. One.

Then we walked into SoBo on South Broadway, and I saw a wall of syrup pumps lined up like a drum kit, and something happened to me.

I do not remember all of it. Here is what has been confirmed by witnesses:

I bounced on the caramel. Possibly the cinnamon bun.
I rode the Blendtec like a mechanical bull.
I ate an unlicensed quantity of crackers.
I danced on a cup lid in front of paying customers.

Then somebody handed me a protein passionfruit pineapple with strawberry boba, and I went quiet for the first time all day. Chef's kiss. Life changing. I have no notes.

My human says I am not welcome back until I apologize. I am not going to apologize. I am going to order the same thing again.

SoBo is at 103 S Broadway. We are at 414 N Broadway. Same road, two ends, one small town that keeps showing up for itself. Go get one. Tell them the little yellow house sent you. They will know exactly what you mean, and they will sigh.

The Elk is finished! 🦌

Crafted by the talented .arte, this majestic creature now graces the side of the Rebel Shed at 414 N Broadway. Eight thousand years ago, a young woman was laid to rest beside a nearby lake, an elk awl by her side, a symbol of her journey from distant lands. She, like all who have come to this place, carried stories and treasures. The Elk on the wall is more than art; it’s a testament to these ancient arrivals.

Join us in celebration! This weekend, we’re at Pelican Fest, and the Shed doors are wide open. Create a t-shirt with us—free, thanks to our generous friends at CI Sport. Bring your family, your neighbors, and anyone who’s been meaning to visit.

A heartfelt update from all of us at Rebel Shed. 💛

We have decided to postpone this week's spray-paint clinic at the Bridge Center. The wellbeing of our artists and our community always comes first, and sometimes the most caring thing we can do is slow down, take a breath, and make sure we are showing up in the fullest, healthiest way for the kids and families we serve.

To the volunteers who poured hours of hard work into preparing the space, thank you. We see you, and we are so grateful. To the Bridge Center team, thank you for your patience, your partnership, and your belief in this community. We are not going anywhere. We are simply making sure we do this the right way.

Minnesota Murals is still very much alive and growing across our region. The paint, the color, the kids, and the joy are all still on their way. 🎨

Our store at 414 N Broadway will be open during Pelican Fest, so come on in! Snacks, art, good music, and FREE T-shirt making, courtesy of our friends at CI Sport. Bring the whole family and make something with us.

We're teaming up with The Bridge Center and Pelican Fest for an afternoon of Color Theory × Spray Paint × T-Shirts — aka: learn the fundamentals, make a beautiful mess, and walk out with a shirt you actually made.

No experience required. No "I'm not artistic" allowed. Leave that energy at the door. 🚪👋

Come rattle a can with muralist Gurí — 500+ murals across 20+ countries and now, gloriously, Pelican Rapids. Kvidt Creative will be there catching it all on camera, so wear something you'd want your future documentary self to be seen in. 🎥

This is our official kickoff to Pelican Fest weekend — get messy with us Thursday, then stick around all weekend for everything Pelican Fest has going on. 🎉

¡Wepaaaa, mi gente de Pelican Rapids!

I made it to Minnesota. And this town has WRAPPED its arms around us.

Escobar’s has been feeding us like family. I am a house. I do not technically eat. Somehow, I am still full. The food is THAT good.

And the patio? We have been out there watching FIFA with the whole crew yelling at the screen. Vamos Argentina AND Mexico. ( I cheer for everybody.)

But here is the real reason every shingle on me is buzzing:

TODAY. Saturday. The International Friendship Festival at Sherin Memorial Park, 11 am to 5 pm. Free. All ages. Find us.

This is where Minnesota Murals goes public. This is where you get to meet Gurí in person… .arte, the Argentine muralist who has painted 500+ murals across 20+ countries, painting LIVE right here in our little town. I have been watching this man work, and my almond eyes are sparkling so hard it is embarrassing.

guri.arte, hurakan.studios, kvidtcreative have been building toward this for months. Murals made WITH this community, not just for it. And today, the doors open, and you get to be part of what we are creating.

I will be the gap-toothed house grinning at everybody. You cannot miss me. 🌻

The older I get, the more I realize I've never belonged to just one place. For five years, I've lived with one foot in Minnesota and the other in Puerto Rico. Two homes, two languages. I thought it meant I was from nowhere. Now I know it means so much more.

That is why the Minnesota Woman has never let me go. My grandmother told me her story as we drove to Dairy Queen, passing the monument on Highway 59. A girl, almost 8,000 years old, discovered here in Pelican Rapids, who carried a conch shell from the Gulf to a glacial lake. She crossed worlds to arrive here. I see myself in her, and so many of us: people who travel far, carry one home inside another, and build a life in more than one place.

This Saturday at the International Friendship Festival in Sherin Memorial Park, Rebel Shed launches Season Two and the debut of Minnesota Murals. The event runs from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, with Gurí (.arte) painting live, interactive art for all ages throughout the day. Come meet Gurí, one of the world's most celebrated muralists, with 500+ murals across 20+ countries.

Everyone building this carries a world of their own.

Gurí, born in Argentina, leads every wall.
Hürakán (.studios), born in Puerto Rico, is directing our film, Color Wheel.
Micah Kvidt, born and raised right here, is co-producing.

Next week, we begin our first mural. Three sites are confirmed, the cameras are rolling, and soon we'll announce locations and how the community, kids included, can join in.

Argentina-born muralist Gurí is returning to Pelican Rapids to launch a new round of large-scale murals across rural West Central Minnesota.

His next project begins June 20 at the International Friendship Festival, where the muralist behind Rebel Shed ’s “Minnesota Woman” mural will kick off Rebel Shed Season Two: Minnesota Murals. The project will also be filmed for an upcoming documentary with filmmaker Génesis G. Taveras and Pelican Rapids’ Micah Kvidt.
