Happy National Read a Book Day! Today isn't about rushing to finish an entire novel; it's just a yearly nudge to step away from the screens and enjoy a few minutes of quiet reading.

Around here, we think the only thing better than a good book is finding the perfect Pella spot to read it. Whether you are tucking into a cozy corner at a local coffee shop, sitting by the Sunken Garden park bench, or enjoying the crisp autumn air on a downtown patio—Pella is basically a book lover's paradise. ☕️🌷

About the author, Paul Damien earned a PhD in Mathematics from Imperial College, London. He was on the faculty at Duke University and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. At present, he holds an endowed professorship at the McCombs School of Business in the University of Texas at Austin. He has published over 100 papers in academic and industry publications, and is the recipient of multiple research awards. His first crime thriller-Nannerl's Symphony-is available worldwide. He was a finalist for the U.S. National Library of Poetry Award. An avid cook and a skilled martial artist, Paul divides his time between Pella, Iowa and South Padre Island, Texas.
