North Branch Nursery covers over 300 acres featuring 300 varieties of trees and over 300 varieties of shrubs. We grow over 20,000 perennials each year and have approximately 75,000 plants in container production. North Branch Nursery also carries a wide variety of new and unique plants. Our trees and shrubs have been shipped to areas as far as Washington D.C. In addition to growing trees, North Branch Nursery, Inc. offers a full service landscape design and installation division. The nursery employs approximately 60 full time employees March through December.

Bluebeard and Butterfly Bush are woody perennials that pack a big punch of late season color! As late season starters, these usually don’t start showing signs of life until around May. It’s best to prune them once you start seeing those buds swelling in spring. Since they’re new wood bloomers, there’s no risk of cutting off your blooms for the season if you prune appropriately.

Featured, we have Izzy with ‘Dark Knight’ Bluebeard (Caryopteris) and Kelly with ‘Pugster Blue®’ Butterfly Bush (Buddleia). ‘Dark Knight’ is a profuse bloomer with fragrant, bluish-purple flowers that are showy from late summer to early fall. It matures to around 2-3’ tall and wide. ‘Pugster Blue®’ is a dwarf Butterfly Bush that produces large, full-sized blooms on a compact frame. It matures to around 2’ tall by 3’ spread.

These beautiful plants make excellent additions for sunny, protected areas and attract many different pollinators, too!
