Some pots found new homes today, and that’s really my favorite part.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Pendleton Indiana Farmers Market today, chatted for a while, picked something up, and especially to those who took a piece home.

I make these things to be used… to hold your morning coffee, sit on your kitchen counter, or to make an ordinary corner of your home a little more interesting.

When one leaves the table with someone, it feels like the making continues. Thanks for giving these little pieces a place in your everyday. 🙌🏼

We are looking for a friendly fast learner and motivated individual to join our crew at Falls Perk Coffee House and Drive-Thru!

We are taking applications and hiring a Barista at this time. We plan to begin training new staff ASAP. This position is part time with the ability to work 25-35 hours/week (4-5 days/ week).

Entry Level Position, No Coffee Expierence Needed!

Open availability and customer service experience are preferred but not required. Applicants must have some afternoon/evening and weekend availability. We are currently not hiring for seasonal employment, and once fully trained all baristas will float between our two locations.

At this time we are unable to accommodate working around a traditional high school schedule.

A glimpse of my typical glazing process.

This is the part most folks don’t see… the quiet, repetitive, mostly messy work of getting a piece ready for the kiln. A 2–3 second dunk is enough for the porous clay to soak up the thick glaze.

Drips and abnormalities will add thickness and variation in the final surface that’s fun to play with. If the drips on these turn out looking like tears (and/or sweat)… 💀

A quick trim…

Cutting away the excess to reveal the feet on these 5.5” plates.

I think of it as a pedestal. Functional, in that it’s less surface area touching your tabletop. Decorative, in that it gives the piece a visual lift.

Every piece starts here, with a quiet few minutes at the wedging table.

The quiet repetition is what I love about this part of the process—a chance to slow down before turning a lump of wet dirt into something that might become part of someone’s (in this case) holiday traditions.👻
