Hollywood Jones is a beloved character, friend and activist to so many in Pensacola. She is currently in ICU and her medical prognosis is not good.

Some of my favorite stories about the night life in Pensacola would start with: "... And then Hollywood showed up"!

She was everywhere all of the time.

I shot this video in June at Betty's during the Punk Rock Prom. I handed her my skeleton microphone and her bubbly personality came through.

Say a little prayer for Hollywood.

True Story. I almost worked as a human oddity in a famous side show.

Every October Pensacola has a fair. It's ten days of carnival rides, games, food, and exhibits. It also had a 10 in 1 Sideshow.

A 10 in 1 was a show with 10 distinct acts under one tent. These shows would have "born freaks" people with physical oddities like my hunched back, "made freaks" people with extreme body modifications, and "working acts" like sword swallowers.

Mike and I always went to these shows every time they were in town.

Ward Hall, the King of Sideshows, approached me about working as a human oddity in his World of Wonders 10 in 1 side show. He said in addition to being a human oddity in the show that they would teach me how to walk on broken glass or be a fire eater.

I had just started working for the Social Security Administration. And the pay was significantly more than that of a side show freak.

Sadly the World of Wonders is no more. And there are only a handful of side shows. I'm still friends with a couple of the performers.

But I always wonder what it would have been like if I had tun away with the side show circus.

Your Goth Mom was not nice tonight. My bitch switch got flipped and I popped off at several Facebook trolls tonight.
I know I should just ignore, block and delete.
But one woman in particular just kept on and on. And would not stop commenting.

I've calmed down. And I'm watching cat videos with Bean. They make me happy.

I'm just not going to look at Facebook anymore. Mike will monitor the page for DMs and questions about the store.
