Today, July 30, is International Friendship Day - a day meant to promote peace, bridge diverse cultures, and honor the power of human connection!

Proposed in 1958, the United Nations General Assembly officially proclaimed this day INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP DAY back in 2011.

Don't worry if you missed it. Though July 30 is the official UN date, some celebrate on the first Sunday of August, as we do here in the United States.

Stop in and get ready for today, or Sunday! Any day is a great day to celebrate friendship, peace, and human connection.

Get ready, Pensacola! Your Blue Angels will be flying high this week. Don't miss a moment! They are also flying on Wednesday - Breakfast with the Blues - they'll be circling overhead, checking out flight paths and centerpoints. Grab a cup of coffee and be ready at about 7:30!

Happy NATIONAL PEN PAL DAY!

The trend of having a pen pal dates back to the 1930s, and "Letters of a Traveling Architect" predates that by one decade. These are between "pals," but Levi was looking for more.

We added "Sincerely: A Poetry Collection" to our room of books this week. It is a companion piece, written by the author's daughter - a book filled with poems, or poems written in letter form.

If you don't have a pen pal, write a letter today to someone you think of often. They'll be thrilled to find something in the mailbox other than junk mail and bills!
