Are you new to the area? Have you ever wondered why we emphasize that we specialize in banned books?

Most of the banned books targeted locally are removed from shelves because they contain themes about race and q***rness. But most removals happen without a committee or public comment… so really it can happen because one person doesn’t like an author or some other personal reason.

It’s not just happening in libraries or schools. A local bookstore also removed these books (obviously not us). This event was a large part of why we began to move so quickly to get the truck finished.

There was NO WAY we’d let this happen in our community!

I find that banned books are often better just because good art is suppose to say something about the world and our society… sometimes that mirror makes people REALLY uncomfortable! Especially if they’re on the wrong side of history 🤨
