Here is a little about Wendy:
Mrs. Strauss has taught music and directed the children's choirs at St. Mark Catholic School in Peoria, and St. Joseph Catholic School in Pekin. Mrs. Strauss taught music at Peoria Notre Dame for 35 years, 17 of which were taught concurrently with Hines Primary School, and 2 at St. Joseph School in Pekin. Mrs. Strauss has directed the PND Choir and Jazz Choir and taught music history, music technology, music appreciation, technology applications, music business, Understanding Modern Music and music theory. Her licensure and experience includes music in grades K-12. She has also taught music and technology at ICC's College for Kids. She is the pianos/organist at St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church, and directs the choir for High Holy Days at Congregation Anshai Emeth. Mrs. Strauss' education includes a Bachelor of Music Education for Lindenwood College(now Lindenwood University) in St. Charles, Mo, and graduate work at Bradley University.

Sending out a call that summer is almost here and it's a great time to get your horn cleaned. Cody did an awesome job on this Bach Strad trumpet. He can do the same for your brass instrument!

The last few weeks have been filled with band concerts held in theaters, gymnasiums, and even cafeterias. There were squeaks and squawks from young players that are still working through the adrenaline rush that comes from performing, but there was also noticeable improvement from the Christmas concert. No matter where the performance took place, these kids were making music and making their families proud. From “Hot Cross Buns” to the "Theme from Star Wars" it takes an unbelievable amount of work from their music teachers. Stressful days that turn into weeks and semesters. We are so happy and proud to take one or two things off a director’s plate when it comes to repairs, music and supplies, because they take on so much. So congratulations to all the music teachers, because our lives have been improved by your hard work. You are changing lives, making incredible music and making a difference. Thank you for all you do and enjoy your summer. If you need us, we are here to help.
