I don’t usually finish a painting while I am teaching in person. I teach a technique on my canvas and then like to mingle with the painters to see how they are doing. Relaxing days like today are perfect days for me to finish those paintings while watching a movie. This is from last night’s event at Garden Gate Greenhouse. What a pleasant night of painting. Everyone did such a great job in their shelf sitter. Everyone created their own unique and amazing painting. I love that.

I am cleaning and conditioning paint brushes and fixing those bad fly away hairs with a 5 second dip in boiling water followed by pinching in shape with fingers (careful, it’s HOT). Keeping them flat to dry helps retain shape and saves those wooden handles from water drips. No matter what kind of brushes you have, it’s important to take care of them.
