Just an update on the parking/driving situation. Basically, there is no update.
We do greatly appreciate all of our customers for their patience with this matter.

Today marks one year since severe storms swept through central Virginia — leaving parts of Petersburg underwater. Families were displaced, and businesses on Bank Street were left to clean up the mess.

We are offering 5-way test strips by Regal for the special price of $3, while supplies last.

As a reminder, our business hours are as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday 10am-2pm, and we are closed every Wednesday and Sunday.

Have you heard the rumors that Crystal Pools of Petersburg is closing it's doors permanently or that Evon the Pool Lady is retiring? 😲
❌️NEITHER OF THESE RUMORS ARE TRUE!❌️
These are rumors that have been going around and we really do not know why someone would want to say these things.

It is true that last year we started closing the store on Wednesdays and that everyday we take a small lunch break around 1:00, but neither of these are signs that we are leaving the retail pool business. The extra day off does give Evon a much needed break in the middle of the week. Our thoughts are that the slightly lighter schedule will allow her to continue running the store for many more years.

It's also true that the parking situation on W Bank Street is a real mess this year. We are being as accommodating as possible when it comes to transporting heavy items to your vehicle. Please do not think that once your purchase a heavy item that you have to drag it 200 yards up the street. We have a wheeled cart and we are more than happy to help you load your items. We are not going to let road barricades stop us!

So, we ask that if you hear these rumors going around, please help us by letting everyone know WE ARE STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS. We appreciate all our loyal customers and we never tire of hearing how much you enjoy the personable customer service or how much you trust that we will do our best to help you with accurate information and fair and reasonable prices.

The Old Towne neighborhood will look a little different this year. Currently, the traffic on W Bank Street is only one-way with no street parking. The City has renovated the large parking lot at the intersection of Sycamore Street and Bank Street so it now has an actual entrance and exit along with striped parking spaces.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Fitzke, the original owner and operator of Crystal Pools of Petersburg and Fitzke and Sons. If you were ever fortunate enough to have met him then it is likely you will never forget him.
He took great pride in his work and treated customers as family. He believed in doing things right and for a fair price. Although he stepped away from the family business many years ago we have and will always operate as he taught us.
