I have something to say đź‘ đź‘
I wasn’t born here.
I don’t have generations of family history here. I didn’t grow up on these streets or spend my childhood in this town.
I chose to come here.
I saw something worth investing in.
I saw potential where others saw empty buildings. I saw opportunity where others saw decline. I believed this town was worth the risk, worth the effort, and worth the work.
Today, only a couple or so businesses remain.
Think about that for a moment.
…
Not because there aren’t good people here. Not because there isn’t potential here. But somewhere along the way, believing in this town became harder than giving up on it.
The truth is that towns don’t disappear overnight.
They fade a little at a time.
One business closes.
One building sits empty.
One dream is abandoned.
One less reason for people to stop, stay, or invest.
Then one day people look around and wonder what happened.
Communities aren’t saved by government alone. They aren’t saved by a handful of volunteers or business owners. They’re saved when people decide that where they live matters.
I still believe this town matters.
I still believe it deserves more than empty buildings and missed opportunities.
I still believe that what remains is worth protecting.
Not for me.
Not for any one business.
But for the future of the town itself.
Because once a community loses its belief in itself, that’s when it truly begins to disappear.
